Yeah, you can train them away until they are big enough to pull clones. BTW what variety are these? Are they Feminized seed?

These are just some regular seeds. Figured trial and error with my first hydro grow I wouldn't invest in gnarly seeds yet, possibly second grow if this goes well. Idk anything about these seeds.

Update... plants are 16 days old. I did a water/nutrient change a few days ago, bumped up the ppm from 400's to 600. But right now the ppm is at 592. Leaves are starting curl up, not down.. researching a little could be a hot mix of nutes maybe the plants are shocked by the nutrients, the tips of leaves are not turning yellow or anything, yet... my t5's are a few inches from plants, back side of my hands don't not get hot so I feel that the lights are ruled out. Either way tho they are still growing fast...

They look good man. Don't worry about that little edge curl, i have had that before with Indica dominate plants, the first leaves are growing so fast that it happens sometimes.

Jeez I hope so, I just got off work and they slowly curling more, top plant pics aren't the best, second pic shows curling, mostly all leaves doing this, bottom second leaves kinda showing yellow discoloration. I can't think I would be hot nutes because it's lower than 600ppm and ph 5.9
I will just keep monitoring them for next couple days.

Im still not convinced there is any real major problem. Good news, I see that you're getting some side branches starting, cool!! You're on the way to getting some clones. As for the curling, it may not be heat but maybe they are just being sensitive to the light spectrum from your T5 bulbs.. back them off 6 inches. It isnt gonna hurt and will encourage the side branches to stretch out for light and you want the side branches anyway for clones right?

If you are still super concerned about how they look lets check a few things out:
1, Make sure your PH meter is calibrated, or check your nutrient solution with PH drops to validate.
2, Make sure your PPM/TDS meter is calibrated ok using calibration solution.
3, Check nutrient strength in EC mode on your meter, what is it?
4, Are you shaking the nutrient bottles before mixing solution? They should be shaken well....
5, Are you mixing nutrients in the correct order? Some nutrients need to have each part added in a defined order.
6, Are nutrients being mixed in the reservoir of water or are you mixing concentrated nutrients? Don't mix concentrated nutrients.
7, How are you adding PH down when needed? Are you ensuring the roots are not being exposed to raw PH down?

I would say that if the above are all in check, you shouldn't have anything to worry about... Imperfections happen, plus it could even be genetic, not knowing what is being grown you don't have a baseline for the strain behavior.

I did set lights few inches higher this morning, when I get home tonight Ima calibrate my meters, as far as nutrients, there's 3, I mix In the reservoir, shake bottles and mix in each one at a time and stir good between each bottle. And I add ph in reservoir, but past few days I haven't had to add any ph, it's staying stable at 5.7-5.9
I have noticed the ppms are going down everyday meaning the plants must be eating nutrients...

Came home from work, wow! looking better already with lights backed off a few inches. Thanks guys, I'll keep monitoring. I'm also really enjoying the steady ph levels, I haven't had to add since water/nutrient change. The growth is amazing to see everyday. Thinking about putting 600w mh on them this Friday, maybe 3ft from plants? Maybe 4ft? To get them acclimated to the more powerful light..
Also, I've noticed moisture being created on the leaves being overlapped by other leaves, prolly not a problem, but I like to log everything I see to possibly prevent problems and learn from mistakes.

Great glad to hear.i like t5 for plants under 6" I think they keep them short and bushy shorter internode spacing may also be the reason the leaf are touching each other. Do you have a fan in the room and now that you backed the lights off a bit they should stretch for the light and give her leaf some air space. Good job

I don't have a fan in room yet. they are in the basement... kinda chilly down there about 68-69' degrees.. gunna put my small fan in this Friday when I switch to my MH light. Also right now they 24/7 and I'm want to change that to 18/6 when I switch lights.

Switching to 18/6 - 600w mh today.
Posted couple pics of plants..
Growth rate is rapid!
Short and bushy!
Next time mother plants get their own buckets so they don't have to royal rumble each other. I'm slowly teasing them away from each other.
Too late to seperate them, roots are massive and balled up with each other.
