My experience growing with Platinum LED'S

Nice crop bud!
I have 2 P450's they do amazing work.
I've received almost noting but hate from people on this forum calling them crap for various reasons.
But despite their claims that the lights are terrible, I just last week pulled over 2 grams per watt with them in a small space and got over 2 pounds off 3 plants.
Their lights are a bit pricey but they have a no haggle 5 year warranty.
Most company's don't even cover their products for 3 years.
So for me it was worth the extra buck.
Just be aware of the many many PLED haters on this forum, their annoying as hell.

Just read through your journal. I loved the spank you put on the troll! Amazing yield.

I'm glad I went this route and not the really really cheap "ah soooooo" chinese lights cause my first experience was bad(wasted 300 bucks on 2x Alibaba leds. If I would have kept being cheap and had another bad experience I would have just given up.

some people here think you can only grow with COBs or HPS but i've seen good grows with many types of light including low budget CFLs. the PLED would be a great grow light if it was not so damn expensive. they use the same LEDs and drivers as light like the vipar spectra with a slightly better spectrum so production cost are not that high

Your right, plants will grow no matter what light is used but for the money and coverage adjustability cobs seems to be a great way to go. You might not be able to get the top dog vero29 or cxb3590 Cobb kits for cheap but there are decently priced cob setups out there. The price point on the citizen kit was what made me go that route. Diy lights are cool and all but if you have no electrical tools to build stuff like that it gets pricey.

The lights are great but coverage does drop off with one p300 but if you have more to cover the space that seems to be the way to go. With a scrog coverage seems to be what I need.

you would get more uniform coverage and the same or better efficiency with bridgelux EB series strip light for a lower price. COBs are becoming an out dated technology.fads come and go but experienced growers stick with a technology they are use too and know how to grow with.makes little sense to spend $800 for a light that works no better than a $200 light

If I could buy the p300s for 200 a piece I would have probably bought two more but again coverage is a big thing for me and being able to customize the light footprint is what I need so I definitely am going to compare cobs vs p300's. I was also even thinking putting p300 in the middle and 2 cobs on each long side of p300.

RainDan was really helpful at timber grow lights and when I think about the whole cob thing as long as I stay within the specs of the heat sink upgrading seems to be a possibility with the passive cob kit i bought so at least I can sort of upgrade chips and drivers if need be. That's also a plus about the pre-assembled diy kits.

I'm not trying to sell anything I'm just looking at it as an investment that could potentially be upgraded throughout time. Being a penny pinching filipino, korean, white guy that sounds like a good thing. Especially when technology now is so here and gone being able to customize a lighting setup and save money is a plus in my book.

You've been schooled on this subject numerous times by a bunch of different people, but you still repeat this garbage over and over again just cause you got suckered into buying an inferior light. Guess what? I did too. I own 3 Platinum lights, and my COBs shit all over them.

Platinums are overpriced garbage. Will they grow weed? Sure. 600 watts of Platinum would equal a 600 watt HID, so of course they're going to grow weed.

But hey, keep pushing that outdated tech. Aside from buyer's remorse, I don't really get the point of it.

Please stop spreading this nonsense as if it's gospel. A P3 will grow some decent weed, but there are much better options for your money. Platinums are overpriced, and they're about as efficient as a standard HID 600 or 1000.
I respect your opinion. Please respect others. I thought I got a good deal for $200 a P300. I see you've owned both Platinum LED and COB. I haven't so I have nothing to compare it to. I compare it visually to cheap LEDs like Vipar and Mars. I thought I made a better investment than going with those. I had no interest in building my own LED. My brother builds PC's and his is better than most you can buy. I get it. But not interested.

Haha. Sensitive much?

I did just fine with Platinums, like I explained before. They do comparable work to HID grow lights, watt for watt. Again, this has been explained to you before. Try retaining it.

And yeah, they dicked me over on a special order. I'm supposed to be happy about that? That's not a legitimate complaint?

The tech is outdated, and I never called anybody a moron. Take a deep breath.

I had a bad experience with their service department, cause they tried to lie and say they sent me something they didn't. That's called shady business tactics.

My point is that you keep pushing this company as if it's the greatest LED light company on Earth. It's not. That's a fact. The company uses shady AF marketing tactics to sell overpriced, inefficient lights to people who don't know any better. Watt for watt, they are just as efficient as an SE HID light, so what's the point in spending all of the money on them.

Clean the sand out of your vagina.

You clearly do.

Why, knowing what you know about Platinums, do you continue to push them to other growers in just about any thread in which they're mentioned?

You know there are much better options for the money. You know that they're overpriced. You know that they're comparable in performance to an HID. You know that the company engages in shady and deceptive marketing tactics. Why do you keep going to bat for them???

I just find you to be a little annoying fuck...
We the people who use them like them... you don't and you made your point... so stfu already and move on... what don't you understand?

I'll keep saying how I like them on forums for them because I've have amazing success with them and broke that 2gpw you yourself said was impossible...and you have noting to say about that

You on the other hand go out of your way to get on PLED forums and cry like a bitch about them in various ways...
You must have serious mental problems or something.

Ok I'll believe they are comparable to HID. But, HID bulbs need to be changed. PLED will be the same intensity for at least 5 years guaranteed. How much does it cost for 5 years of HID bulbs? Also, you need more energy to run fans for HID to expell heat.
