Where Can I Find Pin Fin Heatsink for 50w CXB3590s? They're sold out every where.

Hey guys, I am in the market for 20 heatsinks for 20 CXB3590s. I was going to get 120mm versions and purchase from Northerngrowlights.com but they don't have 20 in stock. I also checked cobkits.com and they dont even have one. I dont really like the idea of using Heatsink USAs because theyre large and heavy, even if i do active. I am hoping for a passive solution. cutters heatsinks appear to be pricier than other places except for their iceLED 450 active cooling solution which is only 12 bucks but i dont know if this will suffice or if i will like it. (havent read much about the IceLED 450 here or anywhere else). Not sure if there are other sources to get 120mm Pin Fin heat sinks or if i should wait for them to come back in stock?:(

I don't mind having to drill my own holes if i save a significant amount of money.

any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated! I'm having a whale of a time just finding each part for my DIY COB build..

Contact Robin at Northern Grow Lights to see when he's getting more.

I've drilled and tapped. It's a ton of work. Avoid that if possible.

I was in the same boat (I wanted the SST-140's) and just had to bite the bullet and buy the SST-X heatsinks from northergrowlights in order to get my light built in time. It was still much cheaper than buying the ones I wanted from Australia where shipping doubled the cost.

I have both pins and fins and the pins are easier to bend/damage and also you cannot mount them to a frame from the top, where these you can just screw down from above to hang them from a frame, which could be nice for you. That one should be fine for 3590s at 50 watts, they wont stay COLD, but Im running the next size smaller right now on some lights at 1400 and they get quite warm, but still well below max temps. If I had to do it over,Id go to this next size up. You can email them to find out for sure it will work. Melinda is VERY helpful!

Id suggest email milinda, thats what I did for the heatsink I used and even tho it wasnt designed for the cobs I wanted, there were enough holes that it worked fine, she even put one together and sent me a picture of the holder mounted on the heatsink to prove it to me. Just tell her what holder, what cob and what heatsink you are interested and shell help you out!

Did you ask him about the new 130mm he has listed? I know they area bit more money but if your in a hurry and available. I think i read he was getting more 120mm soon,if you can wait its well worth it because they are drilled top and sides plus he will set you up with all necessary screws.gl

I'm in the same boat, watched when I should have bought. I sent @robincnn an email and hope he will have some in shortly for the citizen 048 at 50 watts so 120 or 133. Helping a friend build a light and there are plants that can be flowered. Procrastination on my part is not an emergency on anyone else's... :)

dont tell em what its for!
I bought some drivers from them recently. They ask a bunch of questions before you buy. And, I got an email before shipping asking me questions. I forgot you had mentioned them.

Good thing I didn't say anything. I just told her personal projects and please ship ASAP.

i dont intend to. But would it matter if im in legalized rec state and have a medical card? Are they picky about who they sell to or something?
