Solo Cup SOG?

Anybody running perptual harvest with solo cups? I like my plants small for stealth and smell. I plan on running a single 15w LED for vegging 4 plants, and 30w LED for flower. Im expecting roughly 6-8g per plant. Sound about right?

hi.
I don't run solo cups but I run some small single cola plants in 1liter containers. 6-8g per plant is possible but you need to have a lot of light. A lot of light takes some quality engineering to keep cool. I run a sort of modified and evolved style of drbudgreengenes style growing. If you want to do single cola sog with no veg you should definitely research his threads.

To get enough light you have to have enough wattage per area...depending on your light source you want X amount of watts per square foot. I was running led bulbs and getting great results with about 60w per square foot(1 gram per watt). I've since switched to COB leds and have lowered my wattage to about 28w while still increasing efficiency(1.6 grams per watt).

Cloning and keeping a mother plant is also key to running a smooth perpetual system. Clones flowered out at about 3" will end up finishing at about 12-16" high depending on strain..and yield about 5-9 grams depending on genetics, lighting and heath. This ends up yielding about 1.5 - 2oz per square foot. Until you get cloning down to a science and can produce new clones reliably on a schedule, you might want to consider supplementing with auto seeds. I don't recommend growing reg seeds 12/12 from the start. It can work, but you can get varied results...and waste a ton of time growing out males.

Feel free to browse through my micro thread in my sig as well. I have a ton of my grows cataloged and detailed.

perfect, you are a great help! the new COB leds are the way to go, or any new style led in general. I found out that if I run 10 of the smaller cree xml2 with a 700ma driver, they dont even get warm. I can literally stick them on the lid of my grow box with tape ( testing it day 4, no problems :) ), and they produce roughly 20w of pure led power. I can add another 2 for 24w in 1 second and $6 bucks later if i need a few more watts.

How are you cloning? I have the mother plant ready now (first grow) and I took clones directly to ph'd water and 5 days later no roots nothing. So I have swapped them to my dwc bubble cloner and will check on them in a few more days. This should speed up the timing very quickly, as some have roots within a week. I wonder if I could just clone/veg them in the dwc cloner for 2 weeks after roots then directly move them to soil for flower?

I clone in cups of coco but little aero/bubble cloners work great too. After roots are a few inches long I transplant to 1 liter containers and throw them in flower at about 2-4" depending on the stretch of the strain. They usually start growing right away after transplant so they only get a day or 2 of veg really. I always try to wait till I see new growth after transplant to put them into flower. Otherwise you might end up with runts. You can always just trim em down to 3" right before flower if they get too big too.
