Hello, can anyone help? I just ordered a meanwrll hlg 120 48a to power 2 cree3590's. Do I wire it in series or parallel to this driver? Thank you for your help.
Parallell otherwise you would need around 72 volts or so to run in series. Think your driver will run in CC mode to as well as CV, thats a nice feature for limiting the voltage....

Cool. Thank you guys for the quick response. I thought since the output is 48 v @2.5 amps, i would want to split the current by parallel. Thanks again. I ordered it off cobkits, on sale.

So in case you were wondering...you will pull around 1250mA's of current and voltage will vary slightly with temp etc....Good luck!

Watts = Volts x Amps

Really trying to follow all of this and learn as fast as I can So i can get something built. Lost half of my lights my last grow so not sure what Im gonna do lol. I like the cutter kits but seeing so much positive feedback on the citizen chips. Losing 1k of watts pretty much going to stop me in my tracks a bit hope I can keep my mother small enough till then lol.

For larger rooms which chip are most of you going with? I see alot using the 1212 but seeing I need to cover a 6.5x6.5 I was thinking about the 1825's to get more wattage out of the chips. Still bouncing between kit vendors though. I guess I need to bite the bullet at some point though.

Do you think those 5700k 90cri could be used like a finishing chip with a huge blue spike a little uv-a?

EDIT: I know the uv-a is like nothing but its interesting to see that on a cob
i remember @Greengenes707 talking one time that he thought strong blue was as good as uv for that purpose. in which case those blue 455 nm cobs might be handy as well

you can go a lot of ways. i have 9 1825 @ 75W each in a 4.5x5 that works fantastic for me. 16 of those would cover your space nicely

Order them on the site then. I don't think he's doing anymore custom orders on the light engines, but I could be wrong. I ended up ordering all the parts from him and I'll assemble them myself
correct (for now)

first come first served on the site. i tried to email anyone who had been buggin me befre i made the general announcement so hopefully people get what they need

Thanks for the reply. So here is what I am thinking.

I currently have 1000 watts worth of wickedgrowlight fixtures. I have used a 1000w hps in conjunction with the wicked leds for a proxy 2000w actual power draw for flowering. Heat killed me and had to run an ac unit. I run a large hydro system(80gallon recirculating) and didn't want root rot from water temp. So ditched hps and screwed up buying 10 100w bulbs and we'll 100% failure rate. So.

Would 8 1825's @ 100w each be OK for flowering used with the my other fixtures? So I think I would be looking at approximately 1000w for veg and 1800w during flower.

Or would running double the cobs with the 1212 or cxm22 be a better choice. Eventually I'll ditch the wickeds but $$ being what it is lol. Thank you all so very much. And wife says thanks as well because without the info on the forums here I may never have begun treating my PTSD..

I emailed a couple months ago and talked to you once in Dec lol.

When I go to the site the 3500k 1212's and 1818's are out of stock. Can I place an order on back order?

I see you have em in 4000k is that still a good range for a whole grow start to harvest?

Was curious when you'll get in 90 cri 3500k 1212s also what is the shipping time like for us orders
arrived today will update site this evening. chip/small part only orders go out in 1-2 days depending on which day of the week they are ordered. add another day or two for heatsink orders, these take a long time to pack and get shuffled to the back
