indoor air temps

Hello all,
So,I have a question. I have been a long time outdoor grower and have started with indoor.
The question I have is:
Why don't outdoor nighttime temp swings (upwards of 30-40 degrees in a low humidity environment) effect growth and production. However a 10* swing indoors will?

It won't these plants are tough, people are dramatic
