Tap water varies a lot. Mine has a ppm of 24 and ph of 7.25 so it would be fine to use in a concentrate mix.
I worry more about phosphorous than potassium when it comes to negative reactions.
But K sulfate reacts to Ca by precipitation, same as K Silicate. The thing is, not many nutrient makers use K sulfate. K sulfate is FAR better for your plants then K nitrate or K silicate... even the most used Potash of K - K2O....

I should have said different forms of K but, was speaking in general.

Like with Silica's. I always add the K Sulfate first and stir well. I never mixed my nutrients in concentrations of less then charted and then add more water.

What is the application rate for straight K2NO4? I just bought 5 lbs off Amazon & it didn't come with any instructions.

Phosphorous can get locked up as calcium phosphate. Without the help of microbes, it is not useful to the plant.
Gotta say, my plants in soilless are kicking the shit out of my plants in organic soil.
Soil is easier, but the growth of soilless is intoxicating... :eyesmoke:

If that's the 50% K sulfate (18% S) = Application rate of 1/4 tsp a gallon - all bloom - every feeding. It has an npk of 0-0-50.

Oops, I may have given them a bit too much. 1 tsp in 2.5 gals mixed with some humic acid. I'll just give em water next time.
It didn't look like it dissolved completely either. Next time I feed em, I'll mix it with warm water -- or make some terpinator.

I was thinking that potassium sulfate would work well with some seabird guano that I got on sale (12-11-2). Should make a balanced tea if I use 1 tsp in 5 gals & steep with the guano pellets.
Another option is maxicrop seaweed powder (0-0-17).
Maybe I'll alternate between them... :roll: :eyesmoke:

i'd like to say i top dressed with potassium sulfate from ac chemicals last year outdoors. tbls to a 3 gallon & 2 tbls to a 7 gallon once a week, then watered with jacks citrus & molasses.

I don't mean to open up an old thread, but I feel that I have to, to ask this question. When you mix them to together, how long does it take before the mixture goes mad? I seen someone tried to ask this, but there wasn't a definite answer. Does the potassium sulfate eat the carbs while it's in the jug? Or does any part of this goes bad after a week?
