Northern Lights seedling drooping. Slowed growth. Transplant Shock?

I'm a first time grower here and worried. Let's just say the transplant I did yesterday wasn't exactly the smoothest. The soil grabbed by the roots crumbled away. Anyways, I'm seeing reduced growth, and the leaves are drooping as seen in the photo. Is my plant dying and beyond saving, or is it possible to save. How bad does it look? Or am I just way too high-strung?

Why'd you transplant such a small seedling? Don't over water and leave it be. Doesn't look happy.
Because being a newbie, one can only go to the internet for information, where one person says one thing and then another says something completely different. Stupid misinformation... Do you think it will recover?

It looks like it will die. See how the stalk is starting to shrivel?

Who told you to transplant and why?

How did you get transant shock? I've taken them that size and removed from soil, rinsed the roots in water and stuck them in hydro.

It was on some other forum saying if you see roots at the bottom you transplant, others say wait. The soil basically (still slightly moist) crumbled from the root ball. I guess in a panicked frenzy maybe it got shaken up too much?

It's normal to try to pamper your plants when you first start out... I think it's the mistakes that make you a better grower! @whitebb2727 suggestion is a good last hope if you need (or want) to save the genetics. (Learned that myself when I over-attended and underlit a Blue Dream seedling... The plant "died off" and the stalk folded.) You just have to be able to do hydro... Best of luck!

When they say when you see roots out the bottom they mean a bunch. A seedling will have a 4-6 inch tap root by the time it breaks soil.

I've had to transplant for various reasons that small. You just have to be gentle. The roots being out in the open air for a bit won't hurt them. You easily have 15 minutes to work with it.

For future reference wait until it gets quit a bit bigger before transplanting.

Thanks for the information... Wish me luck (:
I didn't do it to save a seedling. The worst thing the op can do it mess with it again.

I've had bad luck using various products for starting seeds for hydro.

I intentionally start seeds for hydro in soil. To me it is easier. Let them grow for about a week to ten days then dig them up. I take a spoon and cut down in the soil on all 4 sides of the seedling then gently lift it out. I then gently remove the soil and rinse with water. I then put the roots into what ever hydro medium I'm using.

I agree that the best course of action is to leave it alone... I suggested your method as a good fall back if the OP really needed to save the genetics... The Blue Dream seedling I saved from damp off was a real eye-opener for me and I wanted to pass on the knowledge... Hope I didn't cause any confusion!

Fucked up again an nute burned it, however it recovered from both the transplant as well as the burn. Thanks for all the help and info btw!
