I'm waiting to start my full seasons this year. Last year was a struggle to keep up. And now my wife is retired, so there is more Honey Dew stuff keeping me out of the woods.
I was able to take 3 days and 2 nights this week, and two 2 day 1 night trips two weeks before that. When I ask my wife if I can go for a few days, she says, "you are going to be gone 6 months when you hike the AT, what is a few nights?" I think she is hoping I get burned out on it, and decide to stay home. And I might. That 3rd or 4th day you don't really feel like putting that pack on and walking all day. But each trip it is harder going back to the world. There is something about the simplicity of walk, eat, sleep that is really appealing to me.
