DIY drying cabinets

Has anyone built one? Any suggestions? I need to build something before the summer starts because my garage is too hot to dry during the summer. I need to bring bud drying into the house but I need to eliminate some of the smell, but most importantly I need to slow the drying time down.

I use a grow tent with a small dehuey a couple small fans and a stink sock inside with a fan drawing the stinky air out and the good air in. works great since 08

If you don't want to use a dehumidifier, due to heat that they put out, calcium chloride works great to absorb water. You can buy it in bags for use in small air driers, one brand is Damp Check. You put a layer of it in a bowl or whatever and sit that inside the box and have a small circulation fan in there to move the air around. When it all gets liquid you dump it and put more in, or dry it in an oven for reuse if you want. It'll take the RH down to 35% so you have to make sure it doesn't over-dry at the end.

I set up a tent with an ink bird humidity controller. It allows a swing in rh%. You plug a humidifier into one outlet and dehumidifier in the other. I set my swing to go between 65% and 55% and my meds come out perfect every time. Even if left in too long, they actually are in perfect conditions (imo) for curing.

What if I hung an old kitchen cabinet in my flower room and then hang dry buds in it? Maybe cut one hole at the top of the cabinet for a fan to remove any humidity from the freshly cut plants?

EDIT....I have three young kids and I just can't put a tent or something in the house without them asking questions. There are no hiding spots. The second garage, where the growing happens, is locked but it's too hot in the summer. The flower room inside that garage is a possibility since I only use 4x8 for flowering in the 8x8 space.

How about some Rubbermaid totes all linked together to a controller tote which has environmental controls in it to regulate temp, humidity, fresh air exchange etc? There are many diffferent ways to approach drying and curing. If you grasp the concept of what it is you're trying to accomplish, then you should be able to rig together a setup that works for your situation. I used to just trim and hang on drying racks and then slow it down by using jars and paper grocery bags back in the day with good results. You just have to find what works best for your style and available options given your circumstances. If you need more ideas, some dimensions of what you have to work with would be a tremendous help

If you have the extra $, a portable ductless A/C unit would solve your heat issues in the garage. You could also do some customization on an old fridge as well? Depends how handy you are with DIY projects

You know how you need to keep the air moving when drying? Well I was thinking maybe that's oxidizing some of the cannabinoids. Now you might say; but people have big-ass fans blowing on the plants while they're growing. Yes, and maybe that's why my plants never have a single amber trich, regardless of strain, I don't do that. My plants don't look like they're in a monsoon all the time. There's some slight leaf movement but like a light breeze not a monsoon. Anyway, so I was thinking maybe fill the drying chamber with CO2, like a constant slow flow, maybe a small CO2 generator using soda and an acid, probably not vinegar because it stinks.
