I think you are just paying the green tax. Or there is a high gold content.

Are you going to use any of the ash from those burn piles?

our veggy garden will go right in the middle of all the burn piles. carl the tractor guys is coming back to smooth the burn piles around. we will be trenching the water lines this week.
Potting soil is the one thing all the big growers spend good money to buy. You will see entire flatbed trucks full of ocean forrest or roots headed out some remote farm road.

We have a soil place locally that has been taxing the industry for decades. $150 for 50/50 and $300 for black gold a yard.
Personally I prefer the surf and turf made from cow, seaweed and sea critters for $45 a yard delivered.

You know what your doing though and what works best in your area. The new spot is shaping up, looks great.

Most commercial nurseries have killer organic compost/soil you can get for under 20/yd - for future reference.

Found any gold nuggets in the dirt?
I was digging a hole for our composter waste early one morning. The sun came up over the hill. As I was leaning on my shovel I looked down and the sun had hit it just right, and BOOM, a bit of gold dust was stuck to the shovel, glimmering...a smile crept across my face as I was dancing all by myself in the middle of no where:hump::hump::hump::hump::hump:

I got 5yds of 50/50 compost and top soil for like 25 a yard. Working really well in the veggie garden. For mj I'm amending it more and adding peet, perlite etc... It looks as as good as my normal mix when done and about half the price. For mmj it ends up being around 50 a yd and some mixing labor. Lol.

Will send a pic on delivery , EZ and me will be filling smart pots and sledding them to the hoop houses using the Kawasaki Mule and an ingenious piece of equipment: we made a sled out of an old pick up bed liner...great idea right there, kudos to JJ. it works like a champ. Thanks my brother
