Sun boards or quantum boards?

Sun boards cost me less then half the price of quantum boards, also they dont require heat sinks which saves alot of money. I was going with quantum boards for sure but I havn't been getting any help from the diy section at horticulture lighting group Ive been calling, emailing and messaging on here so now I'm thinking about investing my money else where.. Can someone tell me if its worth paying over 2x as much to get quantum boards? Or just get the sunboards also the owner of the sun board company answers me right away which makes things way easier.

The owner is making his par maps this weekend, they will be on the website tomorrow he said.

Ive only seen a few builds with his boards on ig so im a bit skeptical

What you buy is up to you. What questions do you have that aren't being answered? Almost every question has been asked and answered in the Quantum board thread.
Im wondering if I put 8 boards on a light to cover a 4'x5' area with a two drivers 1400 ma is that too much? I was thinking id get around 190 lumens/watt? Or is my math off?

Im also going to be building two veg lights to cover a 4'x4' area each with 4 boards each 320w drivers 1400 ma and id like to add 2 more boards after my harvest to make it more efficent is that too much light or is my math off on this one too?

Also a few questions about deals if I buy 14 boards at once and 8 more in a few weeks also a few more questions that take too long to type

Go with Quantum boards they are the the ones who did all the work and designed them sunboards are a ripoff of the hard work robincnn and stephenj37826 put in . I personally would not buy from a scumbag that would steel another persons hard work just my 2 cents

As has been stated here, they are the same thing. Diodes are in a slightly different layout. Who you buy from just depends on your morals I guess.

How is this any different than HLG guys seeing Nextlight and doing the same thing with the newer samsung diodes, nextlight was out long before quantum boards with samsung 561b diodes. The reality is the innovation happens @ samsung in the improvement of leds, not @ the light makers who just slap them on a pcb.

Heres the thing about sunboards lol

They have not been in stock since a few people got the first batch of 40.you think the mystery stock will be around when and if it ever gets listed on the site?

Hlg has more buying power and therefore more stock.as someone already said, all the info for quantums are in the quantum thread. Ask your questions here,im sure someone other than hlg can answer most of them ;)

Your talking totally different voltages and wattage for all these dif type boards so definitely not apples to apples when making blanket price statements

I might be missing something here...but how is it that a Sunboard 240 cost less than half the price of a QB?

I dont think they are unless you take the heatsink costs into account. But if you runba qb 288 at low power like the sb it also does not require heatsinks so its a wash.
