Sun boards or quantum boards?

Quantum Boards were $75.00 the 304 has 304 diodes the 288 has 288 diodes

Sun board is $50.00 and has 240 diodes
So a QB 304 cost $75 and a SB 240 cost $50...hmmmmm?
And a QB 304 cost 25 cents a diode, and a SB 240 cost 21 cents a diode...hmmmmm?
So the way it looks to me, anyway you cut it, a SB 240 does not cost "less than half" the price of a QB 304.:?

The owner offered me them at half the cost of quantum boards since im buying a few and so far the quantum boards I get zero discount on and they cant even fill my whole order for a few weeks/maybe months robbin just told me, its only 12 boards...
I was adding in the cost of heat sinks if I went with quantum boards

OK, so $37.50 rather than $50 does change the equation. So in that you are talking to the owner, a PPF reading for the fixture at a given wattage would really be better than a spot PAR reading under the board. Just saying. It would instill more confidence in the board.

The owner said on Monday he will be posting a par chart, but I got ahold of robin and he cleared things up so I'm just going to go with the qbs. Thanks every one!

Will someone please google Trade Dress, please. This thread would be less complicated. There are 40 DIFFERENT suppliers of Samsung diodes on custom PCB's from Alibaba alone. 40 different......:peace:

Yes, you need to do your homework when trying to get a bargain or you will screw yourself.

CRICKETS...........

HOW THICK ARE QUANTUM BOARDS???

sounds like the answer is LESS than the 2mm thick pcb i had made [at a different factory]

or there would be lot of posts saying different ..

i have nothing against pcb's being thinner than 2mm..but the "silence" is interesting

Long time no see. We have been busy as we bought over half a million 561C last week.
I really wanted to stay off this thread. I want people to make their own fair decision and not unfairly use this thread to promote sales of QB
yet here you are in this thread.. poor OMS.... feeling bad because no one was talking about you ?

2mm PCB thickness. You got a long way to go if you just stuck on PCB thickness. There are parameter that are even more important than just thickness. QB was not designed in China. QB was designed in US by Electrical Engineers so do not waste your time worrying about QB
First you made identical copy Qb design and posted in Qb thread.(yes your new board looks different ), now you are trashing QB. o_O . nice...

i asked for the best they had
outstanding quality control and way to engineer a quality board

The issue of board thickness is interesting to discuss while it can be relevant in its capacity to spread heat horizontally its vertical capacity if generating a lot of heat is more important and the thickness of the trace is perhaps the most important consideration 3 oz vs 1 oz is preferred for example when wanting more heat pushed down through your ground(alum) base, just apart for the increased current/watt performance thicker traces provide.

We are about to have our first 10 boards sent to us and yes we designed the board and we will load and test the board in our own SMD production line, we dont use subcontractors when we stick our name on a product we want absolute full control
Cheers

first off i said was fan of the qb ..[but not you anymore and you know why]

i was not trashing it at all so please do not play noble victim...and i am not worrying about anything

the post was only because everyone was trashing sunboards.

.and of course a panel could not be made in china and be any good.[sarcasm]..

ok ...so that means your board is not 2mm..its ok.. feel good....you don't have to make excuses

i said i like the qb

i just wanted an answer..[and still didn't get it]

so we could have saved a lot of words if we were just given the answer..its nothing to be ashamed of..you have good panel ..be proud

as for what i did..
i told you i was lazy and apologized..and moved on..i am fine with it..

BUT you never apologized for what you did..and it was a lot worse than my transgression

and i am waiting for one
