Anyone use smart pots? I got a bunch and some plastic bags for an few spots that are way too wet/swampy for holes. Any adivce or input on them?
As of now I dug down like 4 inches to make large diameter holes for the bags to sit in to keep the root base cooler an thinking of cutting the bottoms of the bags to allow them to drink the water under them. The ground is totally saturated so that see the only reason I went with bags. What do you guys think? Cut the bottoms? Or just let the moisture soak up naturally from the ground. The holes may have been unnecessary but im used to digging and the hard work so just placing bags seemed weird to me.

@thumper60 @getawaymountain and the rest of the east coast guys have been growing in swamps for a long time.

we put a layer of sticks down to keep bag from soaking up water like a sponge ( plant wont grow for shit ) and later when swampy area dries up drop into hole and ya are good to go at least it works for us alot better than just sitting bag on wet ground where the roots dont have to grow to find water

I really like this idea. Right now with this monsson season w have had, the plants are already drownin.using the sticks will keep them from layin in a puddle than remove the sticks an drop them in those shallow holes as the hot dry weather comds (if it ever does). Thanks though the idea

Hi, High!
In a while I have not posted.
Put ma baby down on 10th april from seed, took the males down and remained with five, FIMed them 10 days ago and topped one as I Could not afford them tall. Gave them NPK with the same ratio and Some Iron. They seem happy.
I have two afghani purples that are no taller than 40 cm, will send pix of them too
