Overwatering in DWC?

Well I have been on 12/12 for almost 2 weeks now. But I've heard it isn't considered flowering as soon as you flip. Unfortunately I have no "thumper" using this LED from start to finish.... They claim equilvelant yield yet more potent and more terpines for flavor and smell..... California solar storm 440. It also includes two UVB bulbs and a seperate switch to activate them. And for 800$ a pop I'm hoping it's all I need :-/

Good luck with the LED! I hope it works out, only time will tell.

Yes, just because you switched the light cycle doesn't mean the plant is a light switch as well. When the stretch stops and the buds start that is considered day one.

lol I sensed some prior bad experience with that gl on the LED! I did place a lot of trust in this technology. I hope it wasn't the wrong move.... only complaint I could possibly have at this point and I think it's more due to my trimming and LST, is not enough stretching.

I guess the hard part is I've yet to notice any stretching and I'm almost two weeks into 12/12. Seeing white hairs but nothing id call buds.

My guess is that bushy plants with lots of heads stretch less because energy is distributed between many smaller sites as apposed to if was just 1 single stalk sucking up all the stretching power. Also with good strong lghting you get less stretch. And one last thought, the more mature a plant is, like your bushy beasts, compared to a smaller less heads younger single stalk plant, the more mature plant can take longer to initiate flower but in the end outperform the younger plant. And another thing, lol, when you want to initiate flower response quickly in the plants, drop any nitrogen source and up the P and the K in the mix to higher than usual levels for those first few days and this will induce strong flowering response. Complete balanced main Bloom fertilizer is not what I mean here, I mean a product like Rambridge Blossom Blood, Advanced Nutrients Bud Blood, Grotek Blossom Blaster, at 0-39-25 ratio, even a regular bloom booster like somethng with a 0-50-30, you cut out the N compoletely for first few days and feed high P and K and plants will flower very quickly then on to your regular complete balanced bloom feed. old old trick ;)
When initiating flower, the plants should be healthy not yellow or any deficiency, this way the super low or zero Nitrogen added just for a couple days will not fuck them up.

Drop the N completely, give your bloom booster to trigger them ;) in good bloom products that contain amino acids and have no N value, the amino acids are the building blocks of life and will sustain them and keepo metabolic Nitrogen processes and green leaves going, brother.

;)

Last thought to add to that, another reason bigger bushier more mature plants can take longer to initiate flowering, is because, compared to a younger smaller less mature plant, the big plant has many more pathways within and larger root structure that has higher levels of Nitrogen stored inside from the veg cycle that takes more time to use up then a small plant would. ;) ...and why the PK boost and 0 nitrogen addition in the beginning days of flower can tip that balance and the big plant will initiate flowers sooner than it would otherwise.

Good info, it's gonna be interesting to compare yields with my buddy as we are from the same mother plant....he's two weeks ahead of me but he's been twice the height of me the whole time. I have much larger root mass and thicker stalk so it's kind of confusing. He isn't anywheres as bushy as me though.

And I'm not overly concerned of it entering flower as every 12 hr cycle it seems more and more white hairs are popping. More so concerned with getting the yield I was expecting mimicking off his grow.

I thought he would be of more help, but I quickly found out while he's been doing this for years he dosnt seem to learn from his failures or have too much of an idea of what's really going on. Biggest difference between us is my dieing care which in this first round was negated by the noob mistakes but also light. While I went my led route California solar storm 440 start to finish with switch for veg and flower and seperate switch for two uvb tube lights, he uses T5 tubes for veg and 600watt HPS for flower. So as long as these new LED perform I do think I'm in good hands to beat him, if they don't nothing could help me.

It's crazy what environment will do because at this point you would think there is no way they are the same strain.

Edit: Mine and his

and I have no bloom booster, simple A and B setup. I feel like the boosters are voodoo and snake oil? You can only put so much nutrient in there? I'm noob maybe I'm wrong?

Bud sites are swelling no way to capture their mass with a picture. If I don't fuck anything up my goal of 12 should be easily obtainable. Did some big trimming!! Needs more but don't want to shock it.

Forgot pic

Defoliate slowly, give it three days or so between trimmings.

That 600w is capable of over a pound, in the right hands.

Stay on top, don't stress out, you can make any changes you want next time.

About the water temp, insulate with that bubble wrap for water heaters or something similar, think mylar, or those emergency fire blanket type things etc.. works good to keep things relatively cool and constant, and I said up there low 60's to mid 60's let me retract that.. not low 60's too cold, keep it around 65 is good place, 61ish I'm remembering now I actually had some issues in the past with too cold roots.
Setting them on some inch thick foam is a good idea also.....

Well supposedly each of those lights is compareable to a 600w hps...... we will see..... I'll take 16 a piece instead of 12 total hehe.
