Harvest Question

Hi everyone. I'm getting pretty close to harvest. It seems the branches that originate closest to the bottom of the plant are maturing the fastest. What should I do if the 2 lowest branches are ready for harvest, but the rest still need another 1-2wks?

There is no problem with harvesting in stages.

So I can cut off and dry the 2 branches that are ready? It won't stress the plant too much?

Guess Im open to ridicule but my experiences say snip them off and your plant will thank you, and the unripe flowers will benefit. Leaving ripe fruit/flowers on anything usually delays the maturation and development/size of the unripe produce.

There is no detectable harm in doing so this late in the game.

Interesting. Well I just looked at a few colas under a 60x microscope and almost puked when i saw spider mites crawling around! Being so close to harvest what should I do?

Are you positive their spider mites? Any webbing?

no webbing that can be seen by the naked eye, but under a microscope you can see some webbing on the leaves. i saw 3 mites on 1 leaf, but haven't seen any others (i looked at 6-7 other leaves). One plant has leaf damage - all along i thought they were trichomes on the leaves, but apparently they were spider mite damage. should i harvest this one plant now?

nothing really you can do about spider mites at this point. i would harvest the plant now. cut them to short branches and hang each from duct tape from the stem. hang them overtop a tarp to catch any eggs that fall. most of the mites will travel up and get stuck to the tape. as far as the rest of your plants/veg cycles, you may want to get something to kill that off. monterey garden spray with spinosad and a one gallon pump sprayer should do it.

So I checked and the trichomes are still clear. So I have more time than I thought. I feel like these bastards are all over me! Should I use neem oil? Trim off the leaves? Something else? I wonder if it was the earthworm castings I recently topped the soil with.

Don't use neem in flower at all.
Like above, spinosad works good.

Is that safe for me right now? Or am I out of luck?

Spider mites are a rough ride in flower as I do not recommend any treatment at all to the buds in flower. Lots of peeps do lots of shit to their flowers in full bloom. I do not so for me its a race against time. Mites do not like dead , dry or drying material and will leave the flowers on their own once cut and hanging.

It's just the one plant. I somewhat isolated it from the others in the tent, took off some of the bigger fan leaves that had these bastards and their eggs, and put diatomaceous earth on top of the soil. Any other non-harmful natural tips?

they crawl, you cannot isolate in a tent. even with dia. earth on things. my recommendation is still to harvest the one, even if early and treat the rest with spinosad.

Ok. I was hoping if they crawled down the stem they would die in the DE that's on the top of the soil. I'll do that though.

This is my first grow this plant has been budding since the 30th of may I'm open to all suggestions if anyone sees a problem but I'm mainly posting to see if anyone can tell me how long do I have till harvest time

Those buds look pretty fat. Get a microscope and check the trichomes to be sure they are ready.
