Will this work

I went with the least rooted clones, sharksbreath, because i really like that plant. Roots still havent gotten to the solution but theres plenty getting pulled into the expanded clay just from the net pot sitting into the water a bit.. Cant wait till they take off! I started with 1.5 ml/g bloom like you suggested, along with the recommended 2ml/ gal hydroguard, and a little under a half teaspoon per gallon silica blast

i like to hand water them from the top at this phase just to be on the safe side.

but yeah, when the roots hit the water, KABOOM.

I just checked for a day pulling the net pots up and making sure they stayed soaked through far enough after an initial hand water. The rooting plugs are staying moist so im not worried about it

yep. you could probably tweak the bloom with a bit more N for veg phase if needed but as is, it's a start to finish 1 bottle nute.

KISS- keep it simply simple
I'll have to give it a crack next round, sounds too good not to give it a shot. If it doesnt work ive always got the flora nova grow as a fall back

To be honest, you could use any random hydro nute formula, grow or bloom, for all phases and probably wouldn't notice much difference. As long as all required nutes are there and the concentrations aren't ridiculously high it would obviously work. You'd have to do controlled experiments to determine if one is better than another. I personally choose to use the grow mixtures for all phases. Got too much leaf tip browning from the bloom mixtures, now I don't. Others may not get the same problem, depends on other conditions too, like humidity and frequency of watering.

Is she asking for me to change something or just needs more roots? Cause idk these symptoms here

Higher ppm?

do you have a EC/ppm meter? and if so, do you know how to use it to see how the plants are feeding? if not, you need one. I'd personally get a EC meter, not ppm.

if EC is 0.5 on day 1, and it drops to 0.4 on day 2, you need stronger nutes
if it goes up to 0.6 on day 2, you need weaker nutes
if it stays same on day 2,, EC is perfect.

Itll be here on wednesday or thursday, measures ppm, ec, and temp. For now ill have to eye it. Thanks for the info. Makes perfect sense

have i asked what kind of water you are using? RO, tap, well??
Its 25% well mixed with the rest distilled. All i was worried about with my well was too much calcium. Figured a little wouldnt hurt

Gonna use all distilled when i refill cause ph isnt changing too fast but i want it as stable as possible. In 3 days its moved from 5.7 to 5.9 or 6.0. Its kinda sitting in the middle. Not bad

perfect. pick up a bag at walmart/walgreens of epsom salt. 2 of the most common deficiencies are cal and mag. your well will have plenty of cal but you "might" lack mag at some time during a grow and having a bag on hand is a cheap fix. 1 gram per gallon if you need it.

thanks for the info on application amounts, but yeah ive always got epsom salt for magnesium deficiencies and i know the general stuff. Ive got everything i need to deal with it if the mix is a little off for my strain in particular. Soil probably isnt too different from hydro in that respect, if you grow long enough that you use use up the nutrients in your soil. Ive got some liquid seaweed for k as well and cal mag and a few specific foxfarm nutes with a ton more phosphorous, one with more balanced p and k and no n for if they get too much n. and foxfarm growbig if they ask for some n ill use it to up the ppm. Its 6-4-4.

Alright i havent had to adjust the ph since the initial adjustment. At 12 days since the res was first filled. Going to change every 2 weeks. Very convenient, it never went above 6.0. Stopped right there. After getting the ec meter i got a reading of .7. Next day came out around .6. Today i adjusted it to 1.0 by adding a teaspoon of floranova bloom and 10 grams of epsom salt. I could see a little mg deficiency coming on

The roots are looking great! Long enough to reach the bottom of the tote and all nice and white, chiller keeping them at 65.

Overall its a much better start than i expected!! Thanks everybody for all the help here!! I think i understand the basics now

Everything went great. I got rid of these plants though because i want to put a different strain in. This was just a test run.

Amazing results! Healthiest plants ive ever grown! They wouldve been much larger but i topped one and split it for 2 mains and topped the other and split it for 6 which slowed things down. Also it took me a bit to tune things in so there were a couple issues at first caused by an off ph and high temp and an ec that was a bit too high. But i think ive got it right now.
