DIY with Quantum Boards

Need a little help. I believe the answer is no but I'm not very driver savy.
I have HLG-240H-1050A, I'm running 2, 304s in series... is there anyway I can run a 3rd board? In parallel maybe?
Thanks

Any interest in seeing a step-by-step write up on how to put this together? All of this can be done with simple hand tools. I think the cost for all of the frame hardware to build two of these was about $50. Probably going to order a couple more heat sinks to play with alternative configurations. What do you think?

very interested. this is what I need in my 4x2

are you running those in series or parallel with the 320???

There's what, 2 pieces of aluminum angle, 2 pieces of flatbar, 4 eye bolts and 8 bolts? I can't really see someone looking at that picture and requiring instruction on how to build it. It seems very straight forward and simple.

If I built that frame I'd move the flatbar the driver is mounted on as far away from the QB's as possible to leave nice big 1" gaps or more to help with natural convection cooling the boards. Maybe even mount the driver from corner to corner and open up even more room.

Why not just use a twin heat sink for that configuration also I thought you needed slate 2s to run 304s at 1400ma???

anyone using slate 3 heatsink for a 260w kit???
I have (2x) slate 3 Heatsink, (2x) QB 288, HLG-240-c2100 driver, for total 250 watts, any concerns?
I originally ordered 6 QB 304's, 2 HLG-240-c2100's, and 2 Slate 3 triples.

I ran them at 3 boards per Slate 3 and these lights were creating too much heat for my 4x4 tent at the full 250w. I'm in the middle of summer so my ambient temps are high already.

I ended up reworking them to 2 boards wired in parallel per slate 3 and turning them down to 180w. My temps are much better now and the plants are loving them. For my scenario I think the slate 3 triple just can't handle the heat from the full 250w.

I ordered 3 of the new slate 2 triples. I'm hoping these heat sinks allow me to run higher wattage without the heat issues.

I also ordered another HLG-240-c1400. So I am now going to have three lights. I'll probably run 2 for veg at 180w and add the third at 180w during flower.

Does running 2 QB 304's in parallel on the HLG-240-c2100 have any downsides besides the chance of thermal runaway burning boards out? Will they run hotter than a HLG-240-c1400 wired in series?

Again, does the QB120 need a heatsink when run at 60 watts? Come on, HLG, that's the third question I've asked that's gone unanswered.
Dude when you bought it did you read the description? Do some research and stop asking dumb questions. My five year old could have figured it out by now.

They would run cooler in parallel as the current would divide to 1050 ma each, running them on the 1400 in series would be higher wattage and more heat but those boards can take it all day

It's been a min and I've been super busy getting my house ready to put on the market but it's just about finished! Just finished bracing on the frame for mounting today. Full pulls 1100 watts at the wall and can dim down to 400. Definitely not going to run it at full power way too much light lol20170820_190828.jpg IMG_20170807_110212_150.jpg
