new grow northern light

what would you go for ??
It depends on your grow room set up. 630W in a smallish area might be difficult to deal with, especially in the summer. There are different options to the GN lights that I would consider...QB's, EB strips, TCI strips. For £840 you'd be mad to buy the GN lights. Fuck, it's almost £2/Watt. A couple of 260W/320W QB kits would be way better. Or buy a load of EB strips and mount them on an ali frame for about a quarter of the price. With the GN's you are paying for all the plastic shit that holds the innards....you don't need any of that unless you're operating in a greenhouse......
Don't get too hung up on efficiency...it's results you want, in the form of weed.

Hello mate, I'm no expert...still a novice grower, so I base my opinions on what I see on RIU and the QB's would definitely be what I would go for. 2 x 260W kits at 3500k would kill it in your space I think.
Looking at the pics of QB grows I think they are hard to ignore. I *think* the QB restock is in 3 weeks if I remember correctly, so not too long to wait.
I'm sure the GN lights are good but why pay more than you have to for more than you need? As soon as funds allow I'll be putting my money where my mouth is and buying a 260W QB kit :)
ATB man

im gonna be buying a couple of these next friday, £350.00 each ,stunning looking light
3x3 light coverage at 60cm. 250w draw at the wall
really looking forward to having them in my room. any thoughts on these ??

Nice chips.......... but 3x3 coverage in flower is not happening with that small rectangular fixture and secondary lenses

Diy with some veros gen 7 cobs, definitely more bang for your $ imo

315w elite agro cmh is good, great spd and decent efficiency.

@GroErr can give you some actual real life opinions between the techs as he's using both in his grow room.

It would beyond crush it, not only the yield would be better but the quality would be so much better under the CMH, LEDs have zero UV and near no IR, both are essential to growing high quality cannabis.

Those are the latest cree chips, but cree is kinda behind in the market right now.
These particular LEDs have uv & ir using the good monos. White LEDs have no uv & ir, not mono based fixtures that include them.
Why would you say crees behind right now? The crap you hear here about cobs?
They've been ahead of the mkt w/ their monos all year & those are what these use.
I don't think you should be giving advice about LEDs guy.
Sure CMH's are great I hear but damn, you do say some outlandish shit. Like your organic HPS yield #'s for instance. You throw out #'s most peeps can't get on hydro n act like its normal. Wazup w/ that.
I grew w/ HPS for a few yrs on a fairly large scale & never saw the #'s you bost.
I do agree w/ some of what you say but then there's the other 50% that just don't add up.

Cree been behind on mid-powered LEDs for a while now, i don't think they have much interest in them and turned their attention to different areas for now.

It's why you see people using samsung chips now.

I'd go for more juice too (: depends what you want to achieve though, really
uuuuummm, im not after record yields but would rather have more than less ,but would sacrifice a few oz for better quality. what yield are you looking at from 2 x 260w kits in 1.8 x 0.9 space with an average yielding plant in nft or bubble buckets . what size kit would you go for ?? atb

Nice to see "The Muppet" testing instead of trying to blow the boards up eh @ledgardener :D

Seriously though, a good test that answers the relevant questions about these boards......nice one!
