LEC lights 2x 315 or a 630

Im looking to buy some SS LEC lights. But i was wondering if i should go with 2x 315 or a 630 to start with in a 4x4 tent. Is there an advantage to having 2 light points? Just wondering.

You'll be able to spread the light out a bit better using 2x315w, BUT, you will end up paying more for 2x315w vs. 1x630w.

So, I guess it depends on your budget...but yeah, If money is not a factor, grab 2x315w

So i got 4 sun system 315s yesterday. The shop was telling me i could run the whole 8x8 shed with that but obviously more lights would be preferred. My question is would running the 4x8 with more lights produce more than the sheer volume i could do in an 8x8? Keeping in mind that im new. Wondering because i need to recoop some of that money lol

Wow thats nuts 8 in a 4x8, ya a 6x6 does sound more reasonable than 8x8. Ive heard the same about each light covering 3x3.

I know im new so im not expecting to be super efficient. I was just thinkin if i did more plants id need to get a lot less per plant

I have been looking into lec lighting and it seems that 630 watts of lec is about equal or better then 1000watt hps. 4 315w for a 4x8 area should be perfect

Would you still recommend 2 315s over one double ended 630? The reason I ask is I just bought a 630 from growers choice and need to fill the other half of my 4x9.

I believe I read over a thread on cmh's that you were apart of from a while back, anyway I appreciate any input

I unfortunately don't have any experience with the dual ended cmh's, but my guess is that coverage would be a bit better on a double ender vs. standard 630 cmh, and penetration would be much better as well...if they are anything like HPS Dual Ended bulbs, which I am guessing they are.

The dudes at the shop i got my LEC 315s from run them and they said 2 315s give a better light spread because you can set them further apart than the 2 fixed points on the 630s. They said a foot further apart is ideal.

Idk if youre in southern california but theres a sale going for lights in encinitas

Also depending on the sun system version you get it gives different light cast. Some are good for 3x3 because it casts basically straight down with nothing on the sides of the tent. But some are commercial reflectors and have a wider spread.

No I'm not near Cali. This de 630 I have is incredibly bright, ive never ran any other de bulbs so i cant compare but the downfall is it surprisingly don't have a footprint like you would think of a de to be because of the smaller reflector that came with it.

I was thinking about taking some heavy duty snips to the hood to cut at the edges so I can bend the hood out at a little better angle but idk if that would screw anything up or not

Also if I go cmh, I was kind of particular to growers choice because they are a bit cheaper but still seem to have some really nice products
