What is a good led for 200 or less

I wouldn't listen to the snobs who tell you to go to websites that sell led's for $1000+. A cheapo Mars hydro or Vipar Spectra is still going to be a helluva lot better than your cfl's, especially if you use your cfl's low around the sides as supplemental lighting.

Hell For my first grow I used a 400 watt hps along side a 450w viparspectra. It surpassed my expectations by a long shot. I was hoping to get a solid 1 or 2 oz off one plant. My first plant I harvested over 4 oz's of big dense buds with about an 8th - 1/4 oz of popcorn buds. Super sticky and stinky.20170929_173011.jpg 20170929_172925.jpg

$200 is not going to buy you much.
A 240W driver is going to set you back about $100 and three Vero Cobs 60 to $75 Then they would need either active heatsinks like CPU coolers or a large passive heatsink, which is another good couple of bucks. Oh, if you take the CPU cooler option, you will also need a 12V PSU for the fans.

So, as you can see $200 in parts does not buy you much.

I go to the auto parts stores and buy all my parts. I also get parts online and I build my own cars. Forget paying some car company like Ford to build a car, slap their name on it and over charge me for it. I just build my own cars and you should too. lol

I have over 500 man hours into my beetle.... Never driven it 50 miles even. :)
I was giving the prices of the components only, IT shows that 200 barely buys you one 240W bar with 3 COBs in parts (I didn't include wires or safe connectors, thermal compound and lead even).

I still think quantum boards are going to be the future over single cobs. For $200 you could build a pretty good light with boards right now.
The way the technology is progressing there'll be some phenomenal lights available quite cheap in the near future.

For 200$ and your grow space imo the best thing to do is buy 2 300 watt mars or vipars. Youll hear so many people bash the blurple lights but they're not working with your budget. I use 2 galaxyhydros 300 watt a pc on 1 plant and got well over 4 ozs dry. It was the 1st plant i ever grew so theres improvements to be made.

I've been running her for about a year no issues and great yield in my 3x3. Keep your flouros for supplemental
Here's just a couple cobs swapped out

For around 200 bucks this light will serve you well and you can reuse the chassis and upgrade drivers and cobs later on

Earlier in the thread i posted this exact setup, as a kit, everything included for $220 from rapid led. Wires, thermal compound and all. You are correct but this is a pretty well put together kit. I think its not as popular because its actively cooled. Most of the shit chinese setups are too. Go with the B driver, add a thermistor and you have a back up.

Dig it dude. I think that may do a little better than my setup having the 6 chips. What are the dimensions for the enclosure?

Now that's just good ol' awesome ass shit right there! You, my friend are an artist. I wanna go buy one and play with one and make it all custom like. I'm just afraid my shit would start a fire. My high ass would probably cross the wires or some shit. I do wanna play with one tho!

13 1/2wide x 19 1/2 long each cob is spaced 6 inches center to center. They have one that's 9 cobs for 200.00 and I believe a 16. I've done two so far each had different brand drivers but same specs. Its easy cheap and fun!

Getting me one or two to play with. After i alter them how many would adequately cover a 4x4x80 tent?I'm thinking 2 or would i need 4 for maximum yield..
