Political freakout over stoned driving is reefer madness

how will 2 nano grams blood concentration allow any medical patient to ever drive again.????????????and for many continue to work.

I have been eating 2 grams of oil a day for a short while now...... and I do not get a buzz..and I'm already tolerant , to the point of needing 3 grams per day,in order to medicate without opiates too.
SO my guess is I would be hugely over the limit concentration wise....regardless of impaired or not.
Come next summer I can not see me being able to drive any longer.
If I can no longer drive then I think I would have to a case for "full disability then"...otherwise.

as a side... I would love to have each officer, that thinks I may be impaired, run a series of impairment tests and then ... have to take a timed IQ test on the spot, where we both have to make a score over a certain amount...
just something simple enough to prove I can think and have good judgement and therefore am not impaired...say in comparison to the police officer who thinks you are impaired....and if you score tied or higher than the officer then??????????

So just like now, the idea is not to get caught...just like drunk driving...only difference being I'm not impaired when I'm medicating....on the othe other end, driving while trying to not focus on pain would problematic for me if I wasn't medicated....

I've thought about that scenario a lot. I have a facial injury to my right eye so it is perpetually bloodshot and looks in a slightly different direction so that would eliminate the follow the pen test. I have end stage OA in my right knee that makes walking difficult under normal conditions.and would make those tests impossible. I'm also over whatever random nano-number they come up with 24/7 - nothing is going to change for me.

I never drive high, GF drives or we walk. However, if these ridiculous laws based on no science are actually implemented, I won't be able to drive because I take 100mg of edibles every night and my system would always show more than the proposed limits. So what, do I shut down my business, stop driving, go on employment insurance, disability, or retire? These are real possibilities with the proposed laws. We need answers and we need the reefer madness crowd to back off and look at reality and science before any laws are passed. No clue, no fkn clue.

I know its a Canadian thread however, Wasn't joe rogan just arguing with someone about this type of shit?

Something about not being able to link legal cannabis use to an abnormal rise in traffic fatalities?

Cheers, it is essentially the same conversation. I haven't followed a lot of the CO discussions but I'll bet there are a lot of the same issues being dealt with in CO. Funny thing is our government stated they would be consulting with CO and studying their policies, then as most governments do, they applied their pre-conceived reefer madness mentality to their final policies/laws.

This specific policy is that as part of legalization which is supposed to kick in next July, they submitted changes to a bunch of laws around driving, road side swab tests, and other things that are clearly not backed up by data, more policy driven by the exact same evil weed crowd who have been harassing us for years. It's a f'n joke and if they actually get all of their proposals through, we're better off now than when/if they actually "legalize" it. #$%!

Yeah I've seen what you guys are dealing with on that side, plant count, laws and future laws are getting ridiculous.

I plan to outright refuse to take any swab test. When the smokes settles I will explain that I have a prescription for Nabilone and show them the pills in the bottle, that I take before bed. I will tell them I did not want to get my doctor in trouble for making me a criminal. Lame, but that is all I have right now, so might as well try and baffle them with bullshit. o_O

refusing a swab or blood test is the same as a fail.

Not necessarily. It's just the start of a long process to have the SCOC rule the law unconstitutional. If the intent of the law is to police impaired drivers, they need to prove impairment, or that your body exceeds a limit scientifically recognized as a level where impairment is likely. Creating a bullshit number and then calling that 'the limit', without it being tied to any indication of impairment violates the charter and will be struck down.

Make work program for lawyers and keeps the courts busy, they'll be "losing" other stupid laws in place now so they've replaced them with the new one's. Gotta keep that revenue stream going to grease the machine :(

I blame MADD Canada for a lot of this madness. This organization is no longer a charity and now borders on some kind of criminalization advocacy group IMO. People don't drink and drive anymore so they need a new cause celebre. Fuck them and their mothers.
Yup madd is outta control. they wield WAY TOO much power and influence. They lie and blow up statistics in their favor. They ride the misery of others tragedies and pull huge salaries in the upper level. Exploiting tragedies and sad stories in their own way and profiting from it. As a group they are on my top 5 despised gangs list. They are basically prohibitionist. Now that they have ruined life as we knew it in Canada they've become cannabis experts. They are the lowest buncha church goers you'll ever meet. I spotted them and their lying tactics years ago.
They have far too much rope and no one questions a thing they say anymore if ever.

"Think about words or phrases that make your blood boil. "Communist" has lost its magic, but how about "drunk driver"! Twenty-five years and hundreds of millions of dollars spent by our government, MADD and other anti-alcohol groups has rendered us unable to view every drunk driver as anyone other than a vile, child killer. Read any MADD press release. There is always a reference to a specific family member killed and the continued grieving of the mother or father. And with deliberate motivation the killer “drunk” driver morphs into any and all “drinking” drivers, who we are told are just as dangerous; statistics be damned. You can't help but feel sympathy and yearn for justice and/or revenge, but against whom?

This social conditioning is similar to Pavlov's experiments with his dog. Ring the bell, offer Fido some food and watch him salivate. After a while, just the ringing of the bell causes the dog to salivate. Sound the alarm, mention a dead child and watch the public demand tougher laws against all drinkingdrivers.

If he is a killer he should be severely punished, and today's laws ensure that he will be, unless he's a politician or policeman. Why is the same hatred not expressed toward a speeder or red light runner who kills someone? Because we have not yet been conditioned to hate these killers. Our laws even mandate lesser punishment if alcohol is not involved.

What happens when the thought control groups reach their goal that it's not drunk drivers but all drinking drivers that are the scum of the earth? It used to be "Don't let friends drive drunk." Now it's "You drink, You drive, You lose." What does that mean? Is it illegal to drive after drinking? If you have a beer and get behind the wheel are you, in MADD's words, the same as a "drive-by shooter?" Say it on TV for 25 years and, the public subliminally gets the message. "It must be true, why would they lie?"

MADD is determined to convince us that Prohibition was a good thing, it was just done the wrong way. They are doing it through hysterical unverifiable claims that tens of thousands of innocent people are killed by drunk drivers each year. They are doing it by exploiting and highly publicizing only those tragedies that involve alcohol. They are doing it through media coverage that loves the sensational story and never checks the source or the verifiably phony statistics.

And once we are all conditioned to their alarm bell, there will no longer even be a need for them to feed us their lies.."

Legalization is going to be a joke by the looks of things. Hopefully someone with some cash gets nabbed and then kicks the crowns ass in court. Kinda the theme around anything mj related. Reffermaddness until proven innocent in court.
