Best cobs for growing with 50in of height

Hey guys I'm going to be setting up a few tents 24x24x48-50" and I was wondering what would be the best cobs to use for that amount of space. 50in is my max height. I want to run both hydro and soil and will be mainlining all my plants. Also how many plants do you think I could fit with 3gal pots in a 24x24x48? Any info or tips greatly appreciated! :bigjoint:

I've already got 2 cxb3590s 50w each. I was looking at getting the vero29s which are 100w each but I was thinking it might be better to go more lights that are less powerful

I always heard 1 sq foot per plant. So 24"x24" would be 4 feet sq= 4 plants max in that space but its no rule and everyone has different opinions.

1 plant? Lol with 3gal buckets? Mainlined? There should be room for more than one right? I'm only going to veg till I've got 2-4 mains so they won't be super bushy
If you are doing a sog with only a main cola and no side branching 1 sq ft is good. If you are growing natural, topping, fimming or mainling it's closer to 4 sq ft per plant. If you really crammed them in you could fit 2 plants in there, but it would not give you optimal results.

Interested in how many you think should fit in a 2x2 tent?
Well if I remember right when I did some measuring, four 5gal buckets should fit in a 24x24 space. So I was thinking at least 4 with 3gal buckets should give a little wiggle room lol

Thanks, I may try to find some bigger tents LxW wise. Anyone know of any good tents like this? Something like 48x24x48? Or 60x24x48?

I couldn't fit one plant in there, my plants are short bushes. Not that big either.
If you switch your ideas a bit you could fit 1 per square foot, or even 4 per square foot but you would have to flower straight from rooted clone and trim all side branches off. Mainlining is getting 8 colas per plant and it will take up space.

To answer your question on how many cobs, you want 35w per square foot, your best with 4 cobs ran soft so they are not too intense to avoid problems with such low ceiling height.

I have to ask, why such a small tent? Are you limited by height or length and width? If its height you can get loft tents which can be short but still 4x4. If your choosing your tent based on wanting a small grow or low number of plants I would go for a bigger tent and bushier plants.

As far as a 2x2 goes, you just need to manage your plants and not let them bush out, too much plant mass and they will compete for light and stretch which is the last thing you want with low ceilings. Just thin them down. keep them short.

You really want something that has more height. Minimum of around 70 inches unless you only plan on scrogging. With a 48" tall tent you will only be left with about 12-18" of growth space. Figure 12" for the pot at the bottom, 12" for the light and filter at the top, that leaves you 24". You don't want the light right on top of the plant so that leaves you room for about a 12" tall plant.

Thanks for the post! And I'll be limited in height after my grow now because I've gotta move it up to the attic for a few reasons lol I'll go measure again tonight but last time I was up there 50in was the max. And I just thought mainlining it and stopping at 2-4 mains would keep it short enough lol I've got a nice looking plant almost 3 weeks in flower that is about 10in tall or so, but not sure how it'll yield. I've seen someone get almost 9oz from a space smaller than that, they just had 16 small plants lol
I'm shooting for around 16oz a harvest between my tents

Looks like I may have to scrog then! Lol or somehow find more space
