Planted in Fall - is it screwed?

Hi there.

So I have planted a singular seed which I found in a bit of weed I acquired on vacation. Took the seed home and was excited to see if it would grow (never tried growing before).

The thing is that I've planted in mid-october. It seems obvious that the best time to plant is spring but I was just kinda excited to see if it would start growing and now it's 3 inches tall and there's no going back! It's growing in a south facing window cill in a temperature controlled room. Also it two rounded leaves have started to turn brown.

This seed and the weed it came from has sentimental value from a special time and place - but have I screwed it up? Any tips or relevant experience most welcome.

Thanks very much,
Lewis

Most people don’t start with a sentimental seed, it’s a long journey to maturity. Is the window cold or hot. Buy Ed Rosenthals book on growing matrijauna

Cheers for responding, Ploomy. I'm sure most people don't plant in the fall too! :/ I'm defo not most people! Where I live, marijuana seeds isn't easy to come by without it getting sketchy and seeds... wouldn't know where to start. So thought I would have nothing to lose trying this wee fella. I found loads of great info online about germination and potting... just nothing mentioned time of year and in hindsight that seems like common sense. Just wondering how I can give it the best chance of becoming a nice strong plant someday.

Germinate normally..might have to deal with temp more than you would in the spring or summer :) I'm having issues right now keeping my room temp above 67 during 12 dark cycle.
