so motel living drug addicts let their 11 month old baby get a hold of some edibles......thats terrible. of course i don't want a kid to die...but that kids death will become a rallying cry for trump and all small minded assholes who want things to stay the way it was when their grandparents were kids.
why were these obvious drug addicts allowed to keep a baby in an unsafe environment? where were the local authorities who are supposed to keep an eye open for such things?

poor kid. i was pissed at my parents a lot when i was a kid, but they went to work, didn't abuse drugs, gave us a safe place to live and good food to eat, and they tried to instill some decent values in me. to my dad i was the laziest person alive, but now, people tell me i work too hard, and are surprised at what i can get done in a day.
that poor kid was screwed to begin with. two drug addict parents that hop from shitty bedbug motel to shitty bedbug motel, she would have gone to a dozen different schools and never been anyplace long enough to make friends.....but at least she should have gotten the chance to pull herself up and make something out of herself.
our society is so fucked up....we let children have children, then we let them raise them...like they have the faintest clue what they're doing....of course, most parents don't have a clue...they teach you how to drive before they'll let you do it on your own, but they don't teach people a damn thing about being a parent before they let you make and care for a baby.

well, at least the doctors who tried to save her are trying to set it straight

Thats a sad story. I do have to add that it doesn't matter if its Tide laundry packets, Rat poison or marijuana edibles, its the parents responsibility to make sure the child is safe and things the child shouldn't have are stored away properly and out of the reach of children. Even if it does turn out to be the marijuana edibles, the concern should be focused on the care provided by the parents and not the chemical.

I could be wrong but i don't believe so, The baby had a heart condition that a percentage of babies and people have, it can be fatal in children, Yes the baby had ingested Marijuana, but the marijuana itself did not kill the baby such as a bunch of heroin would, it was a side effect of his body reacting to the marijuana and blood pressure rising wich caused his condition to take effect,

That could be a different case but im sure its the same one, I just read it Yesterday.

I personally have heart issues and I can tell marijuana has an affect on my heart when I smoke certain concentrates. Thats why I don't dab anymore. Also I notice that BHO, ISO or anything other than bubble hash can make my heart go into afib.

I do notice that certain strains and certain Concentrates elevate my heart rate wich can be uncomfortable, Have to evaluate and medicate Smart wich the parents faulted at allowing access of edibles to their child

yeah, they very specifically said they weren't calling this death attributable to marijuana, just that it could be a contributing factor.
we gotta stop letting dumb ass idiots have children. how the hell can they raise decent people when they have no idea how to be one themselves yet?

yeah, but the establishment doesn't hate drano, booze, rat poison, or oven cleaner.
they hate weed. if there's a way for them to turn this into the first death by marijuana, they'll do it.
they've never bothered with facts before, why would they start now?

I don't think marijuana is in danger of becoming less popular at this point.

The big money wants to sell flowers so it's here to stay. And will be regulated for their benefit more and more.

Its the same thing with the war on drugs. They say its to protect us but I can go buy bleach and drink it. Worse yet, got to any store and buy all the liquor I want.

There was a case like this in Denver. First the doctor said it was a marijuana fatality, but changed his conclusions under scrutiny.

Still the fault of the parents.
its always sad when a kid dies, you never know which one of them could be a Shakespeare, an Einstein, a DaVinci...but even if they work at McDs their whole life, it was still their life to live.
i'm glad to be wrong in this case, apparently this didn't become a huge story, and i think the only reason it didn't become a huge story is that the doctor involved made it very clear that this wasn't the case, that marijuana may have been a factor but not the cause of death.
it should still be a big story, but the story should be about the way people have to live, about the society that lets children have children, with no supervision, about the government thats supposed to have people who help people in this situation......

smoking weed can cause problems for people with asthma and several years ago a girl in my apartment complex had a severe attack and died after smoking pot. she was a heavy smoker and had previous attacks because of it. was it pot, asthma or stupidity that killed her?and where was CPS. this child was clearly in a bad and unhealthy environment

That isn't because of weed though. It's because of smoke. Any smoke could do it without a rescue inhaler.

And fuck the government. Everyone relies too heavily on them. Where were the neighbors and rest of the family?

Denial is the universal problem.

you kind of have to rely on them, if you take any kind of interest in someone else kids now, people immediately think you're a pedophile and you're more likely to be investigated than they are.

That is a fair point.

I have never waited for authorities if a kid was in danger before. I knock on doors.
