how much potency does microwaving your weed take away

sorry but I have to disagree with you 10 to 15 % Amber is fine... I will say I liked this pinapple chunk better at abt 5% amber but then again it's shill not cured or altheway dry yet
You might have missed the part where I said that it comes down to what the grower is going for. Whatever your personal preference it doesn't change that fact that at 10%-15% amber you already have 10%-15% of your active cannabinoids starting to degrade into less active forms.

This is the first time I have ever microwave weed to test before and I literally rolled a joint the size of my pinky and not got very high the buds are finished with about 10 to 15% Amber trichomes but I wanted to test a bud before it dried and popped it in a microwave to test potency but I smoked a pretty good lot at least 2 grams and did not get very high does the microwave take away a whole lot of potency or is my weed just s*** like I said this is the first time doing this in the microwave and it's just horrible
Unfortunatly I sample some weed by drying in the MW

many guys just nuke

is not good

dry on ur MW lowest setting in short bursts

above all leave a damp kitchen towel on top

it will save your throat

in your case you may have nuked even burnt the THC cooking it

good luck

YeA but the others that was Clear get cloudy so it kinda makes up for it.. But I do not like cloudy with clear some probably don't mind having clear and cloudy not me tho

Microwaves excite modules very rapidly to create heat to cook. The water you want to push off boils at 212 F the THC you want to sample starts boiling off at 365 F. How many seconds are there between these 2 temps?

A slower but much better way to the early test is to place joint sized bud on top of a cable box or any other electronic device that runs all the time and is warm to the touch, It takes a day but the final flavor (in the 1st toke of the joint) and buzz will give you a good idea of what the final product will be.

I'm just wondering how much microwaveing takes away from the thc.. I know it's not good to do... I have had quite a bit of growing under my belt and not microwave buds. Has anyone tried microwaveing buds before dryer then smoke the same bud bit dryed correctly... If so was the dryed correctly buds way better than the microwave buds thc wize not flavors it's obvious the flavor is not there
I've quick dried some of Female seeds C99 buds in a microwave with 5-7 seconds bursts, it stunk the house and the high was OK at best unless you were out of bud for a long time.
The same buds that dried normally and were jarred smelled & tasted way better and the high was very pleasant.

I remember one time I cut a couple of bag seed buds and placed them inside a paper envelope which I sandwiched between two 150watt Hps mag ballasts. I left it for 3-4 hours (I don't remember exactly it could be more) and when I checked it, it was dark in color and dried enough to be smoked, it was some of the best and most potent buds I ever smoked, even better than the normal dried ones.

The most I'd go is setting it in front of a fan for 24hrs, its still harsh as fuck but atleast it will burn without missing trichomes lol.

Sorry, no way to speed up the dry/cure without fucking shit up.
Lol. I usually put a bud in a small cardboard box in my furnace room if I need to dry one fast. Usually works over night. Harsh but better than a microwave.

I've used a food dehydrator also.

Not because I was out. Sometimes a new plant looks so good you can't wait.

Batter with tempura and deep fry until golden brown. Smoke until ash turns white.
I agree. Nuke a bud? It'll be what it is, after the cure. Drying to try is simply being impatient.....

Then the Amber issue's of opinion on when the best quality is...

Many new strains and Sativa strains don't amber.....If your plant has ambering trich's. Your growing old school genetic's.....I still keep some around too.

Yet, ambering has levels too. The light amber ones you can see through. Darker and hard to see through and the black nasty dead ones. The change happens fast.

Take some at all cloudy
Take some at 10-15% light amber

Try them a day apart, first smoke of the day. You'll then know what way you like best. Harvest at that point of the one you prefer.

BTW. 10 - 15% amber, Is not 10-15% degraded yet. Poor logic theory. The type or style of the buzz has changed some. So has the intensity in some strains. Generally the intensity has increased.
I'm not saying there is no degradation. It's just different than the way it's being explained by some.

This is a simple choice of "What do you prefer!"

I use scissors to chop the bud very finely, then spread on a cookie sheet. Put oven on low, open the door, and pull rack out as far as it will go. Put the cookie sheet on the rack, and check dryness every 10 minutes or so. It'll get warm, but make sure the cookie sheet doesn't get hot. You're just looking for a current of hot dry air. I'm wildly guessing THC content will be about 50% of properly cured, and will be very harsh of course. The quality of the high will also be degraded, and sometimes gives a slight headache. It'll get you stoned, though.

best way i found is baking it at 170 degrees checking it often when the outside drys, sweat it in a bag or jar, then back in the oven. takes about 30 mins to an hr. itll still have a decnt flavor and will burn good and still get you high a microwave will make it basically evaporate away
