I don't believe in religion. But what story in the Bible did Jesus lead his followers to a house to murder a pregnant woman and other people because he couldn't get signed to a music lable?
compared to Jesus, charley was an angel, he just wanted to kill a few people, Jesus is going to set you on fire forever if you don't love him.

Sorry but the guy wasn't completely wrong. A psycho? Yeah sure. Maybe. You can't watch this whole interview and tell me he doesn't make at least a little bit of sense.

Alvin Karpis was one of the 4 big time gangsters from the 30's (Dillinger, Floyd, Nelson) who were the only Public Enemy #1:

Karpis served the longest sentence of any prisoner at Alcatraz: 26 years.[14] In April 1962, with Alcatraz in the process of being closed, he was transferred to McNeil Island Penitentiary in Washington state. While at McNeil, Karpis met a young Charles Manson. Karpis wrote about Manson in his autobiography with Robert Livesey (1980):[15]

This kid approaches me to request music lessons. He wants to learn guitar and become a music star. “Little Charlie” is so lazy and shiftless, I doubt if he'll put in the time required to learn. The youngster has been in institutions all of his life —first orphanages, then reformatories, and finally federal prison. His mother, a prostitute, was never around to look after him. I decide it's time someone did something for him, and to my surprise, he learns quickly. He has a pleasant voice and a pleasing personality, although he's unusually meek and mild for a convict. He never has a harsh word to say and is never involved in even an argument.

After Manson had become somewhat proficient on the guitar, he asked Karpis for help in getting a job playing in Las Vegas, as Karpis had contacts with nightclub and casino owners there. Manson told him he would be bigger than the Beatles, but Karpis decided to leave Manson on his own regarding his music career.

Manson was a manipulative punk with an overblown ego who preyed on weak minded kids.
And that's all he was. He wasn't a murder, just accused. The guy was a crazy fuck, but from everything I've ever read about him his sentencing was based on pure emotion over public outcry. Multiple life sentences for telling people to go kill others is fucking ridiculous. I tell people they should kill someone else, for multiple reasons, all the time. Doesn't mean I'll do it. By most people's rationale of Manson, every one of our modern presidents are maniacal, psychopathic, killers because of their orders to kill. But that's for 'Merica, so whatevs.
