If anyone is interested in putting their names down for a class action against Health Canada for the recent breach of privacy with the Nov. white envelope mail out, I just saw a release from Jason Wilcox and you can contact Kate to put your name down. The email address is [email protected]. She's involved in the class action suit in some way. I didn't write down all of the details. But there's the email address for a start in case anyone wants to seek out damages.

You may be entitled to a large compensation if you were a recipient of Health Canada’s recent blunder. Our legal Firm is Branch and MacMaster please contact Ulla Herlev at 604.654.2999 to register your name. Your medical privacy was breached when the letter was sent to you. The matter is of no cost to your person only Jason Wilcox and Branch & MacMaster will be accountable for funds related concerns. If you prefer using e-mail then Ulla’s e-mail is [email protected]
This mater has already been filed in federal court all you need do is register with the firm.

I was just wondering about which law firm to register with. There has been a class action law suit filed here in Windsor Ontario but I also see that others have been filed in BC and Nova Scotia, so i guess my question would be which one do you join. The one in Windsor is for $240 MILLION on behalf of all patients others are larger. Please excuse my ignorance , but it is just a question. here is the link to the story if it ok to post here , if not ,I appoligize to buckets and just remove my post. Cheers!http://blogs.windsorstar.com/2013/11/27/local-firm-files-class-action-lawsuit-on-behalf-of-medical-marijuana-users/

reading the Windsor, Ontario statement here is the answer that the 4 law firms are working together.

The law firms of Sutts, Strosberg LLP and Charney Lawyers commenceda proposed class action against the Attorney General of Canada on behalf of all persons who were sent a letter from Health Canada in an envelope that referred explicitly to the “Medical Marijuana Access Program”. Two other law firms, Branch MacMaster LLP and McInnes Cooper also commenced proposed class actions against the Government of Canada. The four law firms have agreed to work together..

I just emailed Branch Macmaster to sign up, there just bulk mailing responses due to the large number of emails and calls they have received. And JMAN, sorry to burst your bubble but 20k a person at 40k program participants = no chance. Thats a 800mil settlement. lol Good on ya for signing up tho! I signed up not for the chance of getting any money, but to show that these federal Govnt aholes cant just keep abusing people that choose to do the right thing and get away with it. Not that they will learn from anything tho.

I'm more interested in seeing criminal charges brought up against those responsible for this deliberate action. I'd love to be able to upgrade my security system but I cannot afford it. This could be a rather large settlement for the government. I don't know about 20k a person, but I expect some kind of money to upgrade my security system at a minimum and really they should be offering enough to allow me to move to a different location completely at this point. That's my view. And if that's how the court sees it, and I hope they do, 20k could be a reasonable amount.

I just called Branch McMaster...the letters are being sent out by the end of the year. It’s just info for those who registered stating that the class action is now certified. Class actions of this type usually take 5 years, but it took 5 years just to get the Class Action certification. This could take another 5 years to now be litigated.
