Is she really ready at day 50??

I pull plant out of grow room , do a fan and pre-trim , then park her on a table . As long as she isn't in direct light from grow room , all good. I go to bed ... House is dark , plant is fine on table til I get up. So when I get up for work I go cut the stalk and hang in bathroom til I get home. Bathroom is closed and vented.

Once I return I look for a more appropriate space for her to begin drying in the dark.

Or ... If ALL plants are ready - I just shutdown lights the night before ( pre trim them ) and leave in dark UNTIL I GET HOME then cut stalks.

It's just keeping them out of harsh and intense grow light .

as far as i understand it, photosynthesis has two stages, light dependent, or active photosynthesis, and the dark stage, or the Calvin cycle.
during the day, the plant is producing ATP and NADPH. at night, those are combined with water and CO2 to make glucose, during the Calvin cycle. this changes the ATP to ADP and the NADPH to NADPH+, which are recycled by the plant, to help feed the cycle the next day.
the point of this is, that there's not really a time of day when you're going to get better results harvesting. the cycle goes on continuously, and there's always a supply of glucose for the plant to use, if it was erratic, your plant would basically have diabetes, crashing every morning and going into overdrive in the afternoon.
i've always thought that harvesting things in the morning is just a carry over of old farming practices, where if you wanted time to get things done, you had to get up and get going with the sun.

Here's a couple more that are nearing.
The first two pics are my purple plant. The bright lights screw up the coloring but she's turning from grape jolyrancher color to a real dark mullberry color. The last two pics is an alien rift like the two in the original question. It looks almost identical to one of the originals I posted except the colas are about half the thickness on this one

Alright guys needing your opinion. I have a big stretchy mystery strain plant that decided to throw nanners. I found out because I found a couple pre mature seeds on a couple plants so I looked around and found them on this plant, which I found a single nanner on the same plant about 4 weeks ago. The plant is at about 70% cloudy and 30% clear, but it was important not to have any seeds, and my biggest plant, covering about a 2x4 still has at least 4 weeks to go. So I'm thinking chop time for this one throw g nanners, you guys agree?
Will the smoke even be decent with the plant being taken a week or two early?

At least half the hairs have went red, she don't look too bad. I'd hate for the big plant next to her to go seedy, she's going to yield a lot but has a ways to go. The damage may already be done but oh well I'm thinking pull her. Probably should've pulled her a 4 weeks ago when I found the first couple, which I did clip off.

I think those are the good nanners that come when you dont harvest at the end :).

If they came at the beginning they would be the bad bananas.

That sounds funny

I ended up finding a couple full blown sacks on her that burst open when I pushed on them, so good timing. I didn't see one amber tric but I think she's still finished up enough to be useful :weed:

Got a little over half way done with her tonight, going to finish her up tomorrow evening.

Well what do you guys think on this alien rift? Near 100% red hairs from top to bottom but amber trichs are still basically not there. Between 90%-95% cloudy trichs..
I'm wondering about the hairs though, your normally suppose to harvest before they all go red. I guess some strains might get red hairs early though. What do you guys think, chop time?? Tomorrows week 8. If I do chop her I'll be puting her in a dark tent to be sure she don't see anymore light and will be chopping tomorrow if that's the case. She's had one plain water so far, watering before that was light nutes.

I felt a lower nug for denseness and I wouldn't say they're airy but they wouldn't be classified as dense either. But that was checking one of the lowest top buds, I don't like squeezing my colas so I left the real tops alone. So what do you guys think?1516405127612382233272.jpg 15164052650321345254481.jpg 15164053499832082738978.jpg 15164056041281488566380.jpg 151640591883898695038.jpg 1516406048259848589188.jpg 1516406196763109582222.jpg

I'll give her more time. Finishing up trimming this one that I pulled last night, the inner, smaller nugs that were harder to see and get to were full of nanners. Hopefully the rest of my frosty beautiful plants aren't full of seeds

Id wait. Aside from potency and loss of yield, harvest too early and no amount of drying/curing is gonna get the hay smell to go away.

Here she is again 6 days later, day 61. A couple in question, what do you guys think?

The first 3 pics are one plant and last two are a different one.15169231061581760205314.jpg 1516923229775361823146.jpg 151692331861548452111.jpg 1516923481312962648976.jpg 151692357913749684342.jpg

look a lot closer, both of them. those aren't bad pics, but its still hard to tell if the heads on the trichs are clear or milky. you have to call that. look at the trichs on calyxes, and try to see them from the side, not straight down, they all look milky from straight overhead

Wait another week and assess at that point. You are how many months into this?

Again, many growers dont realize they are curing/drying correctly and that their hay smelling weed was the result of being chopped down too early! Nothing wrong going over a little but oh man the down sides of an early pull aren't worth it!

Looks good, you are definitely closing in on the final days!
