Thanks for all the info man been very helpful, alot of it really comes down to money,i could save but that would take ages and im just itching to get growing still gonna go with CFLs just to "get my feet wet" growing with lights. The sea of green idea seems pretty good been looking at alot of those grows on YouTube pretty impressive. Like i say im not a massive grower i enjoy the growing process so if i get a little bud that a bonus for me sad i know.... One more question and this might sound dumb but here we go,the way i will be connecting all this through a lamp.holder that was originally used for my lizard tank which is also attatched to a cord n plug the splitter will be put into this but i was just wondering are all fittings the same? Like i dunno wanna buy the splitter and it ends up not fitting the main power source (lamp holder) thanks
They should all be the same size. It's standard for residential lighting.

Not really aiming for a monster just something that gets to maybe knee height and a indica so it'll stay short n bushy, thanks for the heads up on the spectrum i thought it was just change em to whatever so higher for veg lower for flower it is, well atm im doing a VERY half assed grow coz I found a bag seed n thought fuck it and a cfl that was just laying around just another question what does warm white mean? It says 2700k warm white n its 15 watts
That's the color of the bulb, 2700k puts off a warm white color

Hello, this'll be my first time growing with lights, im gonna go the cfl route how many would I need for one plant? And what watt should they all be? Thanks
For a practice grow you probably want atleast 100 watts in veg, 200 watts in flower.

Growth/yield/ripening will be low & slow and stretch will be crazy, but with only one plant it will be a pretty solid plan to gain some experience.

Since I've tore down my grow room for upgrades im now left with just a room closet to grow in, i did a simple 200w run with feit led's,few small cfl's & a big 67w cfl for the hell of it.

Just wanted to ask yet another question, I've been doing a little research for the first time about indoor growing and ive seen alot of these tube things? Like extractor fans or some shit, are these absolutely necessary coz almost every PIC I've seen has at least one or two or is it only needed for a large grow space? Coz im only gonna be growing in a airing cupboard type space

If you are growing in a tent/cab/cupboard ect then yeah you will need to have a ventilation system in place that can atleast bring in fresh air every 5 mins.

I'm just a noob but I just harvested my first grow on thursday. Used 4 42w cfls 6500k for veg, and 4 42w 2700k for flower 168w total for each stage.. currently my micro grow is 1x2x4 super small. Used shit soil and Miracle grow that burnt and stressed my girl, and overall f'd it all up.. but needless to say after 4 months of stressing ( me and the plant) I ended up with just over a 1\4 oz of small dense frosty buds from cfls. So don't let people fool you. They do work

Do you fool us now? 1/4 oz... that‘s like 7 g, no? So you say wasting 170w of energy for 7g of „dense“ buds is worthwhile? I used 50w LEDs and got 70g from one plant... „They do work“

It was my first grow, I had a lot of issues and lost almost half of my plant. Started with using old soil with bugs. And 5 weeks into the flower my light fixture fell and burnt 3 of my 4 tops to oblivion.. the grow in general was a fail, but I think after learning more my next one should produce way more

Not to mention said plant was under 12"

hello ,im currently growing 1 Auto Blue Amnesia in my closet under a 125watt cfl (6400) for the first three weeks and i will use another 125watt (6400)cfl for flowering . I use mylar on the walls.Till now (18 days old) plant is growing very good without any nutrients( will start next week). I aim to harvest an oz dry weed .Do you think its possible?

im also thinking on adding 4 x60watt led bulbs (1100lumens each) when flower starts and move the two 125 cfls on the sides of the pland.

Do you think with this extra 240watt led bulbs(5000 lumens total) will have much better results? 250 watts cfl +240watt leds or 25-30k lumens for one plant ?

I once had around 200w of cfls 6400k and 2700k on one plant that was around 27inc tall, after drying and curing I weighted my product and managed to harvest 40g and as I kept the lights very close and spread out, the buds were rather dense, no matter what people say cfls are fine when used in the righ way!!

Yea, forget CFL... Go for the LED's. The are finally affordable.

Last week I was gaming and I smelled an "electrical, burning, smell".. Panic struck and I ran to my grow tent expecting to see my COB's or fan on fire,, That wasn't it. I kept looking. I went into the bathroom and low and behold one of my bath vanity cfls had fucking smoke pouring out it and had turned black. Pretty scary..

Anyway.. go for LED bulbs. Home Depot has good deals on them.
