I run 4, QB 304 on a 320H-C2800 in parallel with no problems


So looked at HLG site.
Looks like the qb324 is 108+ VDC and 2400mA.
As I suspected the voltage of 2 boards in series is more then the driver is rated for.
Thank you!
And it looks like if they handle 2400mA each.
Then wiring in parallel on that driver is ok?

Sadly there isn't much in for for the QB324's specifically yet. Maybe I jumped the gun and didnt know as much as I thought I did....lol.
Have you tried hooking them in parallel to see if they light? I got two 324 boards here but my 320h-c1400a driver wont be here until Thursday. I plan to hook them up in series. I did ask HLG on Instagram about the best driver to use for them but got no answer so I just went with the driver in the kit they have on there site.

Morning everyone, I thought I knew what I was doing when I bought a few QB288 54v boards, first came with a Hlg120-54A driver so my logic was buy a HLG 240-54A to run 2 boards I started wiring but thought I should look online how to wire, everyone seems to be using a different style driver ending in 2100a or similar and not 54A, I plead ignorance and have looked for weeks but my ability to understand the lingo has kept me using HPS lights, Am I able to use this driver? I now have 4 boards thinking I would use two drivers any help greatly appreciated

I was only worried about voltage run away if one of the boards went out.
With the boards wired parallel. Each board will be splitting the 2100mA right?
And if one board went out then all the 2100mA would go to the one board left?
But that would be ok since each board can handle 2400mA each?
I also saw on HLG site they have an option for a dual series and parallel wiring together. They say you can get the benefits of both that way.

I wanted to ask the guys here first before trying it. But gonna try it out here in a second.
Lol maybe I should have done the same thing you did bad get the driver in the pic.
I also asked what driver they'd recommend. And they said a 240h-2100 or a 320h-1400.
And after re reading that email I'm realizing I must have mixed up the driver numbers when I ordered the driver...

If it makes you feel any better I’ve grown fond of using the CV drivers with multiple boards in parallel. I do however wire them separately from the driver and not daisy chain from board to board. Imo the cv drivers give you more options if you want to start adding boards

Sorry to intrude on you, but when you say "wire them separate from driver" could you educate me a little? I am wiring a couple boards in parallel...

He means running wires from the power supply to each board individually, rather than running wires from one board to the next.

Each board has its own lead and split from the driver lead(s) instead of having a board wired to a board wired to a board. That keeps your first board from having to carry the current of the next board(s)

With my Wago connectors it would be easy enough to wire in seperate leads.
What's the difference or benefit of it?

I gotcha, figured that's what you meant but I am learning, I have read each board then gets equal power vs 1st one getting more, makes sense thank you.. I apologize, one should not medicate with Orangeblossom prior to trying to think! First smoke this a.m. Been 3hrs and I still can't process well...

In gonna order a new driver and just use this 320h 2100 to power some Cree 3590's I have.
But seeing thses boards have an absolute power rating of 250w. But due to the heat sink can only run at 150w.
But if I put a fan blowing across the sinks can I put more power to em?
That way I can drive em at more then 1400mA?

They do work in parallel just fine. But now they're sharing the 2100mA and only getting about 1050mA each wich is a or lower then I wanted to run em...

I love wagos I use the three ways on everything. Benefits are the first board not carrying all the current of the next board(s) I’ve done it both ways and even with just 2 boards wired board to board in parallel the first board will be hotter then the second.
