Watering for soil buckets - thoughts?

Hello,

I have 3.6Gallon buckets with small 7" clones. Soil is Happy Frog and Organics 007.

What is the proper SOIL MOISTURE LEVEL, or:

How do you water buckets that sit in 85 degree heat? Are you putting your finger in and just testing? Are you lifting the bucket and waiting for it to be very easy to raise? Or, should I just water 1/2Gallon twice a week for the first two weeks and then work from there.

What's the best CLONE / SMALL BUCKET watering technique? - Also, should I be spraying the leaves (moisture) at all?

Heat is about 80-85 (can't control) and humidity is low (28% to 40%)

water by weight of the pots. I water to the point where there’s slight runoff say a cup.

For freshly rooted clones I only water in the center where the roots are until they acclimate and have a chance to develop some root mass. Over watering young clones is a quick way to kill em.
