That’s why I pay attention to my vpd and try my hardest to keep my kPa at the right number during the right time. Numbers I’d never check otherwise. Honestly made a huge difference in the leaves itself

I can't believe ec requirements for led v hid is even up for question, my led's watt for watt use 20/30% more ec.

Seedlings under a Mars sp150 at wk 2=3 can use 1.1-1.2ec I'd normally flowers with 1.2-1.3ec under hid.

No surprises plank is talking shit again lmao.

Plank? Since you run 1.2 EC - 1.3 EC under HID do you run 3.0 EC under LED?

Just think, our grandkids will be cursing us, while using direct laser light projectors in zero gravity co2 tents, because we had it so cheap and easy, compared to them, and the costs they pay in nutrients to achieve an EC of 26.

Edit: and pissed at us for not leaving them more money so they could afford those genetically modified predatory mites that shit calmag

I think this died when someone said LEDs use more ec then realised HPS had higher transpiration.

Our kids will have unraveled the myths and be cursing our stupidity lol.

Its not the EC its the enviroment and the plant... EC is only only ine measurable metric/imdex and you cant for force feed plants, they only eat what they can/want. That is a bit simpified but basically true

4.0 -3.0EC for 1-2 feeding a day for the last 6 weeks for these plants, no burning few dry downs in veg but no burning.

Well i have 192 plants that have receieved a 3.0 ec for 6 weeks ...no burn.

Abiotic dmg is a plants response to a varrairing number of stimuli. EC, PH, light, temp...

And with LEDs i see more nutrient efficiency leading to protagonism. One nutrient due to both synthetic chelation and natural uptake effiency will naturally cuase an inballance due to avalability..

Having an adundance of avialability like i do, can invivte burn... bloom 1 being that. But that room has multiple issues from lights to nutrients to media and dry downs...not just one thing

Plants don't use the same start to finish in flower the required ec rises and backs off later in the grow.

I don't think you/me can choose the ec it's the plant, environment and lighting that decides it, your plants plant in my room might need less/more depending on the various factors.
I learned this too. I use the glass soil probe or BlueLabs Pulse Meter to tell the EC and feed accordingly. I've been noticing most plants tolerate & prefer in general:
1.0-1.4 EC CLONE
1.6-1.8 EC VEG
1.8-2.0 EC BLOOM

Above numbers are for an environment with:
1200-1300 PPM co2
1.2-1.4 VPD
600-700w LED lighting spaced 12-16" from canopy.

I had a Mandarin Sunset seedling from ETHOS that would literally eat everything I threw at it then some, at one point I was feeding it up to 3 EC and it would still drop EC at the rootzone and gobble it up within 24 hours. That was a record yielding plant for me. Unfortunately the bud was lacking in all aspects other than yield.

If your nutrients require 3.0 EC like Athena then your wasting your money and time IMO. I feed as low as 1.6 EC with MaxiBloom with 700 watt LEDs, 1000 PPM Co2, 80 F / 55% RH without issue. When I ran Athena I did have to use super high EC for the plants to not look like complete shit. I hate brand bashing but Athena really does suck and gives an illusion of being cheap when in reality you need to use 2x the product to get the same result as other brands like CYCO, General Hydroponics, Advanced Nutrients, House & Garden just to name a few.

I can say, I have used up to 3 EC but I think only with Athena, most nutrients you will FRY your plants going above 2.0-2.2 EC even if your growing 6 ft tall trees.

This doesn't really make sense. All nutrients are the same although NPK ratio can vary a little. Athena bloom is close to the Lucas ratio (1:1:2), which MaxiBloom is as well.

Had you ran Athena at the same ec as your MaxiBloom with the addition of 1.5g Epsom per gallon you would have had similar results and possibly even better since the Athena has a tad bit more Ca. Athena even at 3.0 EC is only about 2/3 the Mg that I use. 60ppm vs 90ppm.

This is really awesome information. Well done for taking the time and effort to learn the in and outs of nutrient formulation mate. It's def something I'd like to get my head around myself. I have plans to get away from hydro branded rip off bottles nutes and run soluble powders sourced from the agriculture market. But before I can do that I need to know how create a complete feed from several different products

That Lucas formula sounds like

I have plans to get away from hydro branded rip off bottles nutes and run soluble powders sourced from the agriculture market. But before I can do that I need to know how create a complete feed from several different products
