Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

That was my thought as well. I can't imagine that there is anything important in the divider other than the supports for shelves. Nothing several well placed holes would interfere with.
I don’t see any reason a dual zone wouldn’t work either. My only concern would be if you only used one dehumidifier would it evenly control RH throughout both sections. Only way to find out would be to make one I guess. If I run across a cheap one I may try it. If I buy one new I’ll stick to what I know works.

Amazon prime day and my upcoming harvest together prompted me to order the parts to make another dryer / curing cooler. If anyone wants pictures or info on a particular step now would be a great time to ask, I may not start for a week or so waiting on parts, but I can try and provide detailed info if anyone would like.

I'd love to see your parts break down from Amazon (before Prime Days are over lol), thanks.

I'd be very interested as well! Still waiting for my other order to ship...

The koolatron 20 bottle is back in stock. It did go up from $150 to $184 though. I wish I could find one of the dehumidifiers under $45 though. I'm not in a rush though so I'm just kinda hanging back and watching for deals. Got another inkbird humidity controller yesterday. Ordered yesterday am and it was on my porch when I got home from work.

Main parts are as follows:
Inkbird humidity controller, I highly recommend the Wi-Fi if you can connect it. IHC-200 Wi-Fi

The small dehumidifier. It had a 15% off clippable coupon yesterday, any small one will probably work but I know this one comes apart easy and works well, I splurged an extra $5 or so.

Here’s the wine cooler I am using, it’s the Koolatron 20 bottle THERMOELECTRIC and is just back in stock at Amazon, although I saw it for only a couple dollars more at Target. Any thermoelectric cooler will do, this had decent ratings, was as big as I could find that was affordable.

Question for ya. Is the power cord on the dehumidifier a USB plug that plugs into a cube?

The dehumidifier that you use appears to be a model that is mass made and just rebranded by multiple companies. I found another one that appears to be the exact same thing for about $10 less on Amazon. Link here: Pro Breeze Dehumidifiers for Home,225sqft Small Dehumidifiers for Room,16oz Tank Portable Closet Dehumidifier Removes Humidity Mini Small Dehumidifier for Bathroom Dehumidifier for Bedroom RV Basement https://a.co/d/gLe8Do1

I also searched "mini dehumidifier" on temu and saw one that looks identical for $26ish but it has the USB plug so I want to make sure before trying it out.

It should be fine. The dehumidifier I have is not usb powered but has a small wall wart type transformer to a small round plug/jack. As long as it works it should be fine, I’m sure there is one company making these in China and slapping any brand name on it willing to pay.

Well it’s getting that time again. I loaded just 1 shelf in the wine cooler with a few buds I wanted to check and be sure there was no mold, with buds this size I’m a bit paranoid. There was no mold at all, leaves were green at the stems, alls good. They smell awesome. Got them at 55f, 55 RH to start.

Here’s a pic of one of the Dosidos buds if you haven’t been watching.

And one of the BK, she’s becoming quite the mess. A huge mess to say the least. Anyhow, she smells awesome and is sticky as can be. I was most worried about her but now I’m good running her several more weeks if needed.

Here’s a screen capture of my Inkbird dehumidifier. Once loaded it will cycle faster between the high and low presets, right now it kicks on at 59 and stops at 55 RH, and is running about 30 minute cycles, 15 up and 15 down. Once it settles to about 6 hours to rise up I’ll change it to kick on at 62 and off at 58. It’s lightly loaded so it’s a bit different fully loaded, but same concept.

For comparison here is a screenshot of yesterday when I just had some laughing Buddha in that hadn’t gone into grove bags yet. It was still curing just fine and at at least 3 months in there.
