My central stem during the begining of flowering went brown and the central stem seems like its dying, WHAT FO I DO, WHAT WENT WRONG

I realised that a small branch comming from the central stem didnt look to good so i cut it of the day later the howl central stem look the same as the smaller one that i took of, wht is this and more importantly what can i do?? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP
