the plants i have going right now are in coco/compost mix and they seem to be doing well so far, haven't noticed any hydrophobic qualities yet in fact I've observed that it uptakes and stores water very well almost too well, i accidentally over watered because of said water retention.

I've heard its bad to let coco dry up. any input?

i'd agree with Rsawr and amneziaHaze most likely fem slight chance of herming but that seems to be rare. i'm running some bag seed right now so we'll see.

looks like overwatering, the soil can look dry on the surface but can still be moist say 3 inches down...that'd be a good way to check from now on.
