    Cloth versus plastic pots

I definitely considered that when I examined the root balls. I still thank that I under watered and as #hotrodharley mentioned, may not have watered with enough volume. I will keep that in mind on my next grow.

    Cloth versus plastic pots

I just received two of the Gro Pro 16” risers. Just letting you know that they are really cheaply made. I expected them to be high quality for the price, but they are crap… Nevertheless, they will work.

    Cloth versus plastic pots

I just finished my first indoor “soil” grow with two plants in fabric pots and one in plastic. Same strains. Containers around 3 gallons. Here is what I observed: Fabric and plastic grew about the same size. Plastic stayed greener and looked healthier. Plastic looked more mature/rip at...

    Week 10 Flowering Question

The Cypress 4 looks nice. Would love to have one of those. The dimensions are perfect for a 2x4 tent. Later…

    Week 10 Flowering Question

That got me for sure! It took me several weeks to figure out light height and brightness. Plus, I had three separate LED panels so I was getting hot spots. More is not always better! I’m only using two panels now and have them spaced out to provide an even canopy in my 2x4 tent. I did buy a...

    Week 10 Flowering Question

I definitely agree with your assessment. I should have mentioned that I have two other plants and their pistils are curled back. Nevertheless, these plants were stressed and I don’t think there is much to gain letting them go longer in terms of improving taste and smell. This first indoor...

    Week 10 Flowering Question

I think you are right, they were stressed and I don’t think letting them cook for another week or two will make a difference. As mentioned, I haven’t seen any real growth in at least 10 days, but really more than two weeks. As for the cause of the stress, it really started early on but I...

    Week 10 Flowering Question

Here’s an updated photo at week 11, day 3 of flowering. The size and density of the buds have not changed in the last 10 days. The pistils have all turned amber and the trichomes on the sugar leaves and calyx are about 90 to 95% cloudy. I’m planning to give them 36 hours of darkness...

    Bro science myths in Flower

Overall, I don’t think Lost Leaf‘s video makes any specific claims other than what the lab results showed. I do think other data points were needed, but clearly different periods (lengths) of darkness prior to harvest did have an impact on THC and terpene production.

    Bro science myths in Flower

One thing for sure, it is great to see that there are so many fellow growers trying to learn more about this craft.

    Another grow going south lol

it really does look like a heat-light issue. I think 15” is way to close for that light. I would move it to 18-20 inches or more. Anyway, cinder blocks heat up quickly and cool down quickly so you might be having big temperature swings. Have a thermometer that show high-low trends is very...

    Bro science myths in Flower

I watched this video today about lab results from various dark times before harvest. I’m sure more studies are needed but good Information nevertheless. YouTube Video

    Another grow going south lol

Is it possible that it’s to hot in your grow room? Those cinder blocks may be acting like an oven. If they feel warm then that would not be good in my opinion.

Thanks! Good to know it could be a couple more weeks. I do have a 21.5x loupe. I’ll be using it more now.

    Week 10 Flowering Question

Hi RIU, Tomorrow will be the start of week 10 since pre-flower and going 12/12. I haven’t really noticed any changes in the buds since last week. So my question is should I just continue to let them mature/ripen and see how they look in a week? Any help would be appreciated. Best…

    Balancing PH of water

I agree with Cannabineer, I would not worry about an 8.0 PH if growing in soil. I would be more concerned about overall water quality, especially if supplied by your local municipal water service. The good news about a local municipal is that they usually publish their water report so you can...

This a bad idea for drying?

12-14 days is nice to aim for, but you absolutely do not want to over dry your buds. So how long it takes depends on the size and density of your buds and environment (temperature, humity, airflow). The goal is to get it dry enough to start the cure process.

This a bad idea for drying?

Preventing the AC from blowing directly on them is a good idea. I would also use a fan to lightly circulate the air in the room but also not blowing directly on the drying buds.

    Leaf clawing

I just leave them alone. It’s my experience that the clawing (from lights being to close) does eventually relax, but can take several weeks.
