    T5 Floresents or 400hps

Fluoros make very good quality bud, just not as much of it. HID is going to be hotter than fluoros. HPS creates light by igniting a plasma arc that reaches up to 1100C. The outside of the bulb can easily exceed the boiling point of water. The bulbs also emit tons of IR radiance, which is heat...

    hey can sum 1 help.

Checking the weight of your pots is a pretty good way of knowing when to water. Unless your soil has excessive drainage, top soil being dry doesn't indicate you should water. You could very likely over-water and even get root rot from watering too frequently. Basically, sticking to schedule...

    T-5 vs. HPS

T5's maximally do(PUR/PAR) around 140% of HPS, watt for watt(fuck lumens!). Which, in this case, is around 600w HPS -not 1760w. Guffaw! You'd also need plant-specialty T5 bulbs(these are 'much harder' to find). Conventional(6500k/2700k) bulbs are going to under perform HPS watt for...

You may want to consider getting a T8 tube fluoro hood, and getting GE Gro Lux(not the wide spectrum aka WS, just the regular Gro Lux or Plant/Aquarium aka PL/AQ bulbs) 40 watt tubes. T12 comes in higher wattage.. they're not nearly as efficient though. Much more efficient than CFLs, and...

    Light

Lumens are for humans. A bulb can have a very high amount of lumens and be very poor at growing plants. Plants need specific frequencies of light to grow the best. This is measured in watts. So I use watts. Fluorescent bulbs designed for plants(Gro Lux, Plant/Aquarium, Blue/Red, etc.)...

    Light

Depends how big your plants are. Figure a minimum of 13 watts(CFL's actual wattage!) per cubic foot.

    Light

Yes. Far from ideal. Not a good idea at all.

    Light

That's perfect. Probably 70 lm/W. most CFLS are under 65 lm/W, especially as wattage increases the efficency drops. Though more small bulbs will produce much more heat due to all the ballasts.
