When to begin nutes in rdwc

Yep. I stopped changing nutes so frequently as well. At first, I just did one change--when it went to a 12/12 cycle. Now, I do two changes. I put in fresh light-levels of veg nutes post-seedling, and I maintain that until flower. I then flip to flower and change to a veg/bloom blend, and...

Please show me your biggest plant grown in rockwool and the form of rockwool you used.

Much appreciated. I will try to not do so. In that same vein, I'd like to tell you that you are doing a great job, so shoot me a message when that happens.

    Question. What is 700g/msquared ?

Just going to run through some basic math to try to answer your question. This is just napkin math, but it may be the closest you will find to an objective answer to a tough question you asked. A square meter equals roughly 10 square feet. So, 700g/10sq ft = 70 grams per square feet. Most...

    Managing loss of power

I think you are fine with this going as you have it. That temp and humidity are not the most desirable, but with the fans rolling (as Billy said), I don't think they are going to cause any serious issues in 48 - 72 hours. Good luck and hope it comes back on soon to set your mind at ease.

Please show me your biggest plant grown in rockwool and the form of rockwool you used.

I use ebb and flow with rockwool medium--4in rockwool cubes on Grodan Unislabs. It is a bit overkill, but the plants do very well and have produced excellent results. Here is my closest to harvest grow at 39 days of Flower (4x Bahama Berry and 1x Dos Si Dos 33). Flipped on July 9th which was...

    What nutes is everyone using?

I had not considered that, but I think you have it backwards. At greater than 2x of the target phosporus and potassium, Kool Bloom is actually cheaper than Flora Bloom in that context. EDIT: I should say, the difference is nominal... like pennies per grow. So, I am not concerned either way...

    What nutes is everyone using?

I only use 6 total chems: GH Trio (G,M,B), Elite 93 MSA, GH CaliMagic, and GH Kool Bloom. All mixed with RO water. VEG: 14 gal RO; 2-tbls of Grow, Micro, and CalMag; 2.5ml MSA (Final Concentration: ~0.6 - 0.7 EC) FLOWER (initial): 14 gal RO; 1/4 cup of Grow, Micro, Bloom, & CalMag, 2...

    What nutes is everyone using?

Sounds like he doesn't know how to manage pH without a buffered solution, but I am only guessing.

Synthetic vs Organic ..Why do ppl go the synthetic route?

Has been said, but I will reiterate. 1. If you like recipes and don't mind a little more hands on, it is fulfilling and easy to follow--consistent. I use the same ratio of nutrients every grow, and only on a rare occasion have I had to amend the solution with a little CalMag, depending on...

    Best Bud/Plant Shot Contest

Bahama Berry (Solfire Gardens). Buds not as big as other phenos I have seen, but they are resin-coated with super strong strawberry terps. This is my third run of this cut, and I plan to keep it.

    First time doing drip

It increasing dissolved oxygen in the solution, and plants uptake dissolved oxygen through the root zone. Now, how you achieve said aeration I suppose can be debated. The other guy is saying aeration stones has negative impacts, but I have not experienced any abnormal increases in pH or...

    First time doing drip

Air stones and air pumps do produce dissolved oxygen as a function of agitating the water surface, and they do so with only 1 to 3 watts of power consumption where as a wave maker is 5-10 watts and is running mechanics in the reservoir producing more heat than the air stone by a large margin. I...

    fan upgrades

While airflow is increased in both instances, there are two primary fan/filter setups that have two distinct purposes beyond airflow/turnover--Odor Control and Contamination Control. 1. Ideal fan set up for Odor Control (negative pressure): Starting Inside tent: Pre-Filter...

    First time doing drip

I guess I would say from a risk perspective, why not aerate? It costs between $20-$30 to aerate a single reservoir, and the benefits are critical to plant health. Arguably, one of the cheapest value-add additions to a hydro setup besides maybe a cheap fan.
