What's the deal with 3 petal leaves? What if a plant was put back into veg after just starting to flower when very young.

Is this possible? Small plant, got as a gift a few days ago. Was outdoor for at least a few days. Only about 8", not very busy, and looks like it's starting to flower. Now under 24hrs light to hopefully get it to grow bigger before putting it to flower. Will this work or is it just a bad...
