    Awkward grow space layout help

Hmm thanks, that makes sense... the airspace around the plants would act like an environmental buffer. So I should make the tents as big as possible, and start with fewer plants. Then after things are working smoothly I can look to expand. And realistically, I have a couple years worth of seeds...

    Awkward grow space layout help

Is the lack of feedback due to how I've presented my questions, or do members here tend to not bother with people who have yet to start growing? It's not looking good for when I have questions when plant life is on the line...

    Awkward grow space layout help

Ok, I think my best option is this: 2' x 6' flower tent, 7' high (12 plants) 2' x 2' mother/clone/veg tent, 2-levels 3.5' + 3.5' (4 mothers, clones to fill space) This way I can keep a perpetual grow going, with 3 sets of 4 plants in flower with 1 sqft each, and 4 different strains to choose...

    Awkward grow space layout help

Budget isn't a huge concern, but I don't like being wasteful. I'll probably do T5 for veg, and CFLs for mothers and clones. HPS isn't off the table yet for flowering. My first obstacle is just like I said, figuring out the size and dimensions to build the various grow areas in this space. Which...

    Awkward grow space layout help

After reading some more here (mostly the implications of lenseless LEDs), I'll go for a more expensive LED unit. I'm just not sure how best to use this space for an all-inclusive clone, mother, veg, flower and equipment room.

    Awkward grow space layout help

I'm trying to plan out my first grow. The best spot I have in my house is in the basement in an unfinished room, but it seems to have a pretty awkward layout. It's 4' x 8' and 7' high, but the door is on the end not the side. Power is no problem, and I could either vent into the room above it...

    Buying a house

A lot of listings I've seen have 100 amp upgrades done, so it seems pretty reasonable to ask for it. Or after the fact, just as a general improvement. I would be a bit concerned over the room itselfs draw, if it only has a 15A circuit. I'm thinking about 60 sqft total, 2x 600W for flower, maybe...

    Buying a house

I guess it probably comes down to the details of the hidden room more than any particular house features. Bigger would mean it'd be less noticeable when 100 sq ft go missing :D

    Buying a house

I'll probably leave the garden part out, but asking for an unfinished basement should be generic enough. Thanks for your thoughts!

    Buying a house

I'm going to be buying my first home soon. That means I'll finally have the space for an indoor garden. I'd love it if I could have a hidden room, so there's nothing suspicious for visitors. That probably means unfinished or partly finished basement. It's not like I can list this as one of my...

    Heaths Flooded Tube Vertical

Once the water reaches the dam levels, since the pump is constantly running, additional water keeps coming which overflows the dams down to the next level. The sloped pipes ensures the water overflows in the right direction.

    LED power density guideline

Thanks gobbly, I'll check out some of those aquarium sites! Do they tend to be open to pot-growing applications there? My intent wasn't to hit the 4 peaks with 4 LED wavelengths. I was considering either: to add in some blue at ~460nm, or go straight 660s but adding in 2700K fluoros to hit the...

    LED power density guideline

Here, maybe this will be easier to follow (missing values in charts were filled in with average of previous and next, since some data jumps by 10nm not 5nm): Wavelength HPS Luminous Human PAR Plant Radiant Efficacy Lumens Efficiency Lumens...

    16k lumens HPS vs. CFL

How would one go about generating plots like that? Well more specifically, gathering the data points... or was that done manually, moving the light meter to specific spots and recording all over?

Cant get my 100watt hps lights to work ,,,(help!)

Yes they each require a special ballast to drive them, which is the expensive part. They may only draw 100W continuously, but they won't get started without the special circuitry.

    LED power density guideline

I'm planning out an LED grow light and having a hard time tracking down useful guidelines that would apply to growing at a specific wavelength (660nm). I've seen 9000 lm/ft^2 suggested for HPS, but as bad as lumens are for plants using a somewhat balanced spectrum, they're next to useless when...
