    LED Question

Black Dog LED are expensive, but seriously well worth it. Can't beat 15 spectrum coverage and the buds are nice and dense with very good canopy penetration. Plenty of density to the buds, even with Sativa phenos. The Black Stars do a decent job as well. Those are the only two I would consider...

I have the BD360 ($1,100 flowering model) and it does everything my 400w hps did with ease and then some, minus the heat and bulb changes. You're going to luv your BD light. They are expensive, but very well worth it.

    400w vs 600w

I agree with Cali Grown, 600w is the most efficient of the three. Considerably more yield for the 1/3 increase in wattage. The electrical bill won't be much of a difference between the 400 & the 600 as well, so go with the 600w, you may thank yourself later for doing so.

can you have too much light?

No, not possible considering the genetics of plant life in Nature is for the Sun to provide light to the growth cycle. The more light the better. Now "heat" generated by the light source is a different story. That can be an issue for some setups. GL

5 Gallon DWC going into flower - Nute Question

It all depends on the strain. Some will be happy with a lower ec/ppm others want a higher amount, the plants will let you know either way. Rarely I've had to go over 1K ppm for a dwc grow. Many indica dom. strains happy in the 650-800ppm range flowering, while some Sativas doms have wanted more...

Nirvana ppp growers advice needed please

Nothing is exact in Nature. If some are done before others, that is generally expected. But you already answered your own question really, when the trichs are half clear and half cloudy that is when to pull the plug. Some wait longer for fuller cloudy trichs, but stopping before they turn amber...

    soil vs hydro

Both methods can provide excellent results. But I believe in anything we do, if we do it well with confidence it will produce a great outcome. That said, I find that some naturally manage hydro better them soil and vise versa. Having done both for extensive periods of time I know my strengths...

How do you guys use your POWER CLONER

Sprayer on 24/7, tap water or RO @ 5.0 - 5.5 PH. High humidity. 100% success on most strains. Average is around 5 days for a decent root to sprout. Many different methods work well for cloning. :weed

    Reverse Osmosis filter

Learn all about it as you build a custom unit. I did a 4 stage with pressure gauge and a few extras for $160 including delivery. 0.5ppm every usage, works perfectly. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/build-your-own-ro-system.html Hope that helps

    Deep water culture only thread

Thank you Jig. Yes, LED only. Its a Blackdog BD360 max flowering version, consumes around 380w last I checked. Vegged them under a 180w Jumbo Illuminator and then switched to the BD360. Like to get them all bushed out before flowering then pop the tops by clearing the bottoms. Also I agree with...

    Deep water culture only thread

What is there not to love about dwc? Great looking grows all. Here is a little something to add to them. Blue dynamite strain, vegged for 4 weeks, nice and bushed out, kept light low. Days 1 -5 (trimmed and manicured) then days 18, 24 & 34 of flowering. About 21 days left, maybe 25-26 depending...

    Led Users Unite!

Thank you Hudson, although I vegged with a 180w LED and had it only 10 inches above them to bush/branch them out. The LED above them in the pic is a little larger then it looks. Its a 360w (15 band) specifically for flowering. Has the infrared, ultraviolet, cool and warm white bands to blend the...

    Led Users Unite!

Week 5 of flowering, LED grow, on par with any 400-600 HID IMHO. 3 weeks to go on this indica strain. There are more then one "best" type LED manufacturers out there, just have to look for them. Its a modern myth that LED cannot do what an HID can. You just have to be willing to pay the piper...

So far flowing is decent, but plants are starting to loose lower leaves????

That is perfectly normal. Even if the leaves are full of green and fall of on their own. Keep in mind how leaves fall off trees in the Autumn while they produce their seeds for next season's offspring. As the plant flowers the upper growth will take up all the energy of the plant and the older...

    Best PH meter

If you truly want one of the best and price isn't a big deal, I use this one myself. http://www.thermoworks.com/products/pH/iq120_125_128.html Stores dry, no need to keep the gel tip wet in storage. Blue lab, Hanna and Milwaukee all make high end meters in the $200-250 range that are nice as...

    Led Users Unite!

Personally, the best LED on the market Ive dealt with. 15 bands and made with the highest quality of materials inside and out. http://www.blackdogled.com I own the BD360 max flower model. Steep price, but you get what you pay for in this World. Have it set 12 inches above very thick canopy...

    Figure This Led Haters

Good to see this HiD vs LED thing come up over and over. Actually its fun to see the competition between the two. Having both a 400w HPS and a high end LED to make the comparison I can say that everything depends on how you personally wish to pay for performance. If you want to get going on...

    Ppm question????????

Do yourself a favor and invest in R/O as many previously have mentioned. You will be glad you did with tap water like you have presently. Make your own. Self explanatory, steps you through each phase based on your needs. Very cost effective compared to retail store units and work excellent, my...

    clones..

Personally I would recommend cloning from the veg state only. Yep you can clone from flowering, but the hormones of the plant have changed and there is going to be a difference in how the clone roots itself. Usually the time factor. Best to cut a clone from near the bottom of the plant in veg...
