    water pump size for rows

If your pump is handling 4 rows of 3 buckets well, then it will handle 3 rows of 4 buckets almost as well...though I am a little surprised it can handle either...I would have gone with at least 350 gph.

can a shallow 4' by 4' be used for DWC/bubbleponic setup?

Hi all, I'm about to get going on another grow and I've got a bit of different idea. I found excellent huge containers that are 4' wide by 4' long by 10" deep. I am thinking of doing 5 plants in that in a dice pattern; one in the centre, 4 in the corners. The whole container will stand on wooden...

Nutes and PPMs in DWC discussion

yo Flo Gro...you say you start at 100-250...what type of water do you use for your DWC? I use tapwater and it's 190 right out of the tap. so i start off at 300 PPM after the nutes go in.

Nutes and PPMs in DWC discussion

That's precisely the problem though....I had extreme N-defiency at 480 PPM or so....i only bumped it up to 780 PPM and the tips all over the plant got slight burns as a result...if i back off by 200 PPM i'll go back to the N-deficiency. And I'm not even sure that going up to 780 has stopped the...

Nutes and PPMs in DWC discussion

The pictures i posted up are from three days ago. There are brown tips on many leaves now, though they are very mild. Also lots more leaves than in the picture ended up yellowing due to the N-defiency. That's why i'm kind of wondering. I slowed down the N-deficiency turning the leaves yellow by...

You would go full strength before even reaching flowering stage? isnt that too soon?

Nutes and PPMs in DWC discussion

Hey All, I've been really struggling to get the correct PPMs on my bubbleponics system. First, a little background info on what I've got... 4 plants, all AK-48 (Indica) 5x5 mylar tent, 600W HID always about 19" from canopy top. 4 plants in 80 L of DWC water in 3" trays, several large...

33 Days in, 600W DWC, Plant Bottoms Yellowing, nice PICS & lots of Info

Hey guys just an update...PPMS are now at 760, pH is between 5.4-5.9...The plants deteriorated for about 24 hours since my last post, eventually with all of them showing bottom damage and even some on the next node up but now the damage seems to have stopped spreading. I am also now 95% sure...

33 Days in, 600W DWC, Plant Bottoms Yellowing, nice PICS & lots of Info

alright, well with 3 people saying to bump the nutes i guess i should. I bumped up the PPMs to 575 or so and dropped the pH range to 5.5-6.0...I'll let know whether it'll get better or worse.

33 Days in, 600W DWC, Plant Bottoms Yellowing, nice PICS & lots of Info

PPM meter (Nutradip Trimeter) was calibrated at the beginning of the grow. 5.8 at the top end? I always thought 6.0-6.5 for soil, and 5.8-6.3 for soiless. Source is Cervantes Horticulture book. I really want to go easy on PPM. I'll boost if i got to, but is 450 PPM on day 33 really causing the...

33 Days in, 600W DWC, Plant Bottoms Yellowing, nice PICS & lots of Info

Hi all! First, some background: 4 plants, all AK-48 (Indica) This is my 2nd grow, first one with DWC. I am 33 days in, with day 1 being the day the seeds were dropped into the germination glass. 5x5 mylar tent, 600W HID always about 19" from canopy top. 4 plants in 80 L of DWC water in 3" trays...

Air Temperature waaay too high in 600W tent. CFM issue?

I get that you're not trying to hate on me man. I absolutely did think about exhausting air. But in my current situation I found right off the bat there was no way to do it during the winter, which lasts 7-8 months where i am. So i tried to think up another example I witnessed first-hand where...

Air Temperature waaay too high in 600W tent. CFM issue?

I don't know about that; the room i'm venting out into is much bigger than the tent; the heat from inside the tent doesn't warm it up more than 3-4 C...so it sits at 23 C. Warm air rises up and out while my intake for the tent is at the bottom near the floor (where the coldest air should be). I...

Air Temperature waaay too high in 600W tent. CFM issue?

Can't vent into an attic from where it is, in the summer i can vent out of a window but currently the temperature where i am is -25 or -30 C depending on the time of day :). I am leaning towards this fan though: http://www.justfans.co.uk/plastic-tube-extractor-fan-150mm-4-speed-p-303.html I'm...

Air Temperature waaay too high in 600W tent. CFM issue?

thanks Bean, I'll probably get that RUCK for sure, there's several other threads from the past that mention RUCK fans being really quiet. As for an inlet for cooler air, the grow tent has inlets at the bottom of the tent, where cooler air comes in and gets spread around by the oscillating fan...

Air Temperature waaay too high in 600W tent. CFM issue?

I think I'll get that 6" RUCK fan with the thermostat speed changer. I'm reading around that any fan that can be turned off of its maximum speed via thermostat or any other way tends to be very quiet. Unless someone has poor noise expiriences with these fans or have other 4"-6" fans that they've...

    This is a DWC/Bubbleponics system. Do you mean 5 C or 5 F?

Air Temperature waaay too high in 600W tent. CFM issue?

That is a VERY nice fan for a very decent price if it is as quiet as you say. I'd love to move to a 6" inline fan but I'm worried about noise. I had a cheap 4" inline fan on the system before the PC fan; but it was awful for sound so i took it off...
