I vegged this plant for about 5 weeks from seed. I topped it a few times and did LST also. This is my first time growing this strain. It is doing better than cfl's.

I have the Blackstar 240 and I've got 2 plants in 3 gallon pots and 1 plant in a 1 gallon pot. Ultimately I think 2 is ideal for one light. I'm getting another blackstar in the next month so then i will have 2 240's in a 4x2x5 tent.

I agree, I put the paper towels in the tupperware, close the tupperware and put a towel over it for darkness. Then I put it on top of my fridge. 100% germination rate.

Not bad, I'm hoping to get that when I harvest my first Blackstar grow.

I can say this, I ran 400 actual cfl watts and could barely keep temps below 85, w/my Blackstar temps are at 70-72 and the plants are growing better and faster than cfl's.

What was the yield of that plant? Looks pretty good. I just got the Blackstar 240 so I'm curious to what you yielded....

That is not what I want to hear. Speed controllers(just like everything else in growing) is something you get alot of different opinions. Some say they work great and some say they make it louder. I'm going to order one from HTG in a month or so just to see.

For sure way less heat than cfl's. I'm about to put a small heater in the closet my tent is in to attempt to raise the temps. I run constantly at 70-72.

In my opinion, a 440 cfm fan is going to be too loud and move too much air for your space. I have a 4x2x5 tent w/a 200 cfm fan and carbron filter, and for lighting I have the 2012 240 watt Blackstar LED and I am buying a speed controller to turn my fan down b/c I no longer have any heat issues...

I'm subbed. I'm curious to see which light you like better. I would imagine the PG is nice b/c of the ability to switch modes from veg to flower. I have the 240 watt Blackstar and after 9 days I am loving it so far, but I'm not starting flower for another few days so won't truly know for another...

I am checking out LBH's topping tutorial, and I think it's about time to top for my 2 ladies. I will probably read the scrog too, but i don't think I can do a scrog as I'm trying to do a perpetual.

That sounds good, my grow tent is only 5 feet tall so I keep my plants relatively small. I've never topped or tried lst but I know for sure I'm topping both these plants.
