when they're in veg, they need lots of nitrogen. when you flower them, they need more potassium and phosphate. fertilizers have N-P-K values on them that stand for percentage available nitrogen, phosphate, and potassium. So for veg, you want High-Low-Low For flower, you want Low-High-High

Day 30 of 12/12 Yeah. As you can see, a lot of the fan leaves have been removed from my plants because they yellowed and crumbled. Like he said, as long as they're on and they've got a bit of green, they're still harvesting sunlight for your plant. But once they're yellow and dry, they pull...

No, I've got a soil pH tester kit where you add a certain amount of soil to your sample and it gives the pH of water + soil. I have 5/7 males.... =[. what a bust. And they were the better looking plants too :( 2 potential females. Ah. Well, at least I don't have to buy more lights =p.

Well, ideal pH is like 6-6.5. And since my soil has a higher pH (7-8 ), I have to balance that by making the water a much lower pH (5.5). As the water sits in the soil, the soil will neutralize some of the acidity and cause the pH of the water to rise over time. So by giving them lower pH water...

    Heat Stress Effects

85 F day temps should be fine. I would look into pH -> my plants were small like yours until i watered with pH 5 water to offset my soil's higher pH -> then they grew! :D Check the pH of your soil, and then adjust the pH of your water. You want pH around 6.

    Yellow leafs??

it's probably pH. a few of my plants have yellow spots on their first set of leaves from the pH being too high (7-8 ) when they were seedlings even though i watered @ pH 6. They stayed kinda small until i watered w/ pH 5 water -> which balanced out the higher soil pH -> lots of growth! no more...

CFL Light set-up + unhealthy plant questions (pics included)

A plant becomes root bound when it is overwatered early on and develops roots only at the bottom of the pot/cup (as opposed to rooting the entire volume of soil). Once a plant becomes root bound, it will need to be transplanted into another pot. To avoid this, water only when needed. Take a...
