try take a pic with your HPS off, new growth usually has a lighter color to it cant really see from your pics tho

the smell usually comes from your dirty ass mouth so maybe a carbon filter down your throat might help

i would say keep doing whatever you are doing maybe add some micronutes( i know that AH has then for hard and soft water) ; pH your water to 6,5 if possible

i dont think its your lights that burnt it looks more like you nuked it with nutes straight water for next 2-3 waterings id say preferably pHed water
