I still have a cola going outside that has no amber trichs, and is pushing new pistils. Leaves are green and no rot. It's on week 11 now lol At this point It's just a science experiment

Be careful with those Kush varieties. I was just reading about how Kush strains are supposed to be the most susceptible to botrytis. If you pull on a sugar leaf carefully you can bend the stem of the bud away from the stalk and take a peak inside. I have harvested 3 of my 4. One was Grand...

I have been using the questionable buds to make coconut oil. I just made a batch of 40mg/tspn oil. That's pretty potent. You could probably get high just massaging it into your skin

The powdery mildew doesn't seem to be a problem. I have it on some leaves, but I don't see it getting into buds. It's the bud rot, which appears to be a different species of mold, that is really dangerous. The worst part is you might look at what seems like a healthy bud, have it drying...

So I split the difference and only harvested half of the colas. Have had them drying since Friday. I did lose almost an entire plant to bud rot, so I will be making a lot of edibles. The rest is looking really healthy still. I think I am going to wait until it snows to pull them.

    The odd seed

Well I only found one at a time... so there wasn't a lot to make tasting notes on lol They are exactly like hemp seeds you will find at a health food store. Same size, colour and taste.

    The odd seed

You will not get a seed without a male flower to give pollen. So if there is a seed do to hermie, you should also see a male flower nearby. I've found a few seeds on my plants as well. I ate them. I assume that if I find a seed, and don't see a male flower, then it is from stray pollen and...

    2 weeks darkness before harvest

Sounds similar to the conditions I had when I got mold. I would say go for it, but err on the cooler + drier side to play it safe It really does depend on the size of the buds and how closely packed the branches of buds grow to each other with your strain.

    Maintaining terpene profiles post harvest

I wet trim any fan leaves I can get at without disturbing the buds too much. Keep my room at 50%RH and let it dry until it's nearly equalized with the room and the sugar leaves are super crispy The crispy leaves are easy to trim. Doesn't even stick to my scissors like they do when wet. I...

    2 weeks darkness before harvest

Also I will add that the strain you are growing makes a difference. If you have the type of strain that forms "big bud" style clusters then I wouldn't try it. If you have something that branches out and keeps all the buds away from each other then it might work really well.

    2 weeks darkness before harvest

I did this once and ended up with mold all along the stems, getting into every bud. I managed to cut it all out but I had tiny popcorn nugs by the time I was done and probably lost 1/3 of my harvest. I'm not saying it can't be done. If I were to try it again I would make sure I have a...

Should I just cut them down Friday? I think they could "go longer" but, temperatures around 10 degrees doesn't seem to me like much growth would happen I've also been cutting out bud rot. I don't really see amber trichs, maybe that's just not in the cards for the climate strains I'm growing...

I invested about $100 total into my 4 plants. No nutes. Bought some wooden stakes to hold them up. Sunlight is Free. I'll get at least 2 pounds dry. I have noticed a few spots of budrot on a couple plants, so I don't want to push it past another rain. This Saturday looks like rain, so they...

Anyone still pushing for a later harvest? Judging by the forecast I'm thinking I'll harvest next Friday Oct 11. Nice weather this week.

Wow that looks crazy. Those buds go all the way down too, must be a heavy plant.

I think next year I will go out and violently shake the plants each day I've heard it works well to strengthen the stalks. Weather coming up looks good. Two more weeks!

    Will they bounce back?

I'd remove those mostly dead leaves, to let air and light in around the the smaller healthy leaves

    How much time left?

Are you guys serious? Won't he get mold/rot if he waits until it snows.

Anyone else just get hit by a heavy storm? I just spend at least an hour standing in the rain desperately trying to straighten up all my flopped over stalks.
