    Trichomes & Harvesting

Thanks RedWhiteBlueGreen (what a name, haha!) It's a AutoFem Northern Lights. I started growing under regular incandescent & fluorescent bulbs, swapped the incandescent to CFL about 4 weeks into flowering. I haven't been able to get more light in the closet and stay at an acceptable temp. Lumens...

    Trichomes & Harvesting

Ok, fought with my camera for a good long while and this is as good as it's going to get haha. Trichs seem mostly cloudy, some clear - didn't see any obvious ambers (hard to tell sometimes if it's amber or just how the light hits it). It's been 13 days since I posted my question. I'm at 10...

    Trichomes & Harvesting

I haven't harvested yet. Most trichs are now cloudy with a few tinges of amber showing up (in one plant anyway). I can't remember when I started counting the flowering weeks - it seems that I saw buds before the plants fully showed their sex. I forget what info I knew at the time and used to...

    Trichomes & Harvesting

I have a 40x loupe - I used that plus the digital macro setting on my camera to get the pics. The magnification when looking through the loupe is better, but my camera removes some of the magnification I guess. Thanks for the reply - appreciate it!

    Trichomes & Harvesting

Hey everybody - This is my first grow and I think my plants are just about ready, but I'd like some feedback on whether they need more time. This is from an AutoFem Northern Lights and I'm two days shy of 9 weeks flowering (assuming I started counting at the right time - and I've read so much...

Seed Cultivation - How long until seeds are viable?

In the interest of knowing what the absolute longest time I may have to wait to get viable seeds, I continued to research - and I found something! From the 2010 version of 'Elite Growing Marijuana', pg 81 (of the ebook, pg 93 of the PDF). The short of it - it can take anywhere from 2 to 16 weeks...

Seed Cultivation - How long until seeds are viable?

Thanks so much Wheezer! :D I'm not exactly sure when the plant became a hermie, but I'm fairly certain the male pods have been there at least 3 weeks. So I'll assume pollination was probably around 2 weeks ago - give or take. Based on trich color, seems like the seeds should be ready about the...

Seed Cultivation - How long until seeds are viable?

Hi all - So I've got two AutoFem Northern Lights that are about 5 weeks into flowering. I've had a hard time keeping the temps below 80 and one of the plants became a hermie. I'm actually kinda glad - now I'll have seeds :) They may be hermies too - but this is for personal use and I don't...

Having Trouble Identifying Plant Health Issue

I pruned the all leaves that were halfway dead or worse. But there is still tip burn (I think it's from a light being too close for a while) and yellow stems. The first plant is the one that turned hermie. It's pretty sparse and pitiful looking. But the buds it does have are frosting up nicely...

Having Trouble Identifying Plant Health Issue

After doing more research it seems the problem(s) may be high PH and/or light stress. Lights have been on 24/7 since they were seedlings. I also discovered today that one of my auto-fems turned hermie - I'm guessing because I haven't been able to get the temp lower than 80 with the lights on...

My Ladies are a Wee Bit Odd

Well the first plant is a hermie then. I thought those were strange looking 'buds' - now I know LOL! I'm guessing that it the temp stressed it too much. I haven't been able to get the temp any lower than 80. I only have one more seed - so if this produces some, I'll live with it, LOL This...

My Ladies are a Wee Bit Odd

This is more to share some odd behavior of a couple of plants - if it's indicative of an issue, please let me know. These are both Auto Fem Northern Lights. The first image is a very large cluster of buds on the main stem (more buds coming in still) but none have opened. Anyone seen this...

Afraid to even breathe on this baby!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Right now I'm assuming both are lost. If the situation improves, I'll update & add pics. Heading to home depot tomorrow to get some more supplies (mainly lights) and make sure I have anything and everything I can think I'll need before germing any more.

Afraid to even breathe on this baby!

There's so much conflicting info out there - guess I erred on the wrong side when planting. What is the suggested depth under soil to plant?

Afraid to even breathe on this baby!

As for the other seed - I dug around it some - that was the taproot sticking up! Dang thing still hasn't rooted. So - turned the taproot down, covered back with soil. Maybe it'll sort itself and finish sprouting (fingers crossed).

Afraid to even breathe on this baby!

I thought it might be fucked, so going on the assumption that I couldn't hurt anything, I decided to dig down further into the soil to see what the rest of the stem looked like. The stem is still too thin, but do you see any rot? For now I've just covered it all back up with soil and have it...
