Best strains you grew in 2014?

Best strain I grew was a Jack Herer clone I got in early october. Took 8 weeks to finish. Very good full body stone and also helped my mother inlaw with her fibromyalgia pains. This was grown under CFL as I was just getting back into growing. Have 600w HPS lights setup now and growing Big Cherry...

    holes but no pests, help

I've narrowed it down to calimag deficiency and nitrogen, new growth was starting to get the claw. The leaves with holes were at the bottom.

    holes but no pests, help

This is off the lower part of the plant. I'm using 600w hps and it's about 1.5ft from the lamp with a fan blowing over the canopy.

    holes but no pests, help

I have 1 girl scout cookie that has a few leafs like this. I'm feeding it the same as the other GSC. Running about 1100-1200ppm and using calimag with r/o water. Ph is right about 5.8 -6.0. Temps have been in the high 70s with light and high 60s without. This is in 3 gallon smart pots using 2par...

lots of small plants or a few bigger ones?

Personally I chose to go with 16 plants on a perpetual SOG. I put 2 clones about 1ft tall in each week. This way I harvest 2 plants a week with 4-6oz per harvest dried. I use 3 gallon smart pots.

Fewer Higher Watt CFLs vs More but Lower Watt CFLs

In my experience the 23w and 26w CFL is the best option. The bigger ones put off to much heat and dont supply, as you stated enough lumens per watt. I have settled on the 100w bulb replacements that use only 23w. Depending on the color spectrum they put out at 6500k 1450lumens and at 2700k...

    10 23w CFL Grow

That was dry weight. How did that only cost you $3? I know the lights cost much more than that. Its a good Idea though, I have seen the turkey pan technique a few times. The only issue is that foil isn't as good of a reflective surface for light as the hammer tone aluminum. But on a budget...

    10 23w CFL Grow

And I had the plant trained so it was short and bushy, so it was only about 2ft tall from ground to top of the plant.

    10 23w CFL Grow

I flowered under 10 23w CFL bulbs with that light I made. It was only 1 plant but I got just over 2 oz of that plant and I pulled it about a week early because I messed up the PH and was getting nute lockout.

Thrift shop cabinet turned Grow cab!

So I decided I wanted to stop buying my clones. This lead to a trip to the thrift shop to see if I could find any good candidates for a grow cab. To my surprise my first stop was a home run. I found this beauty for $35. I quickly started my work cutting exhaust holes and intake holes, getting...

    10 23w CFL Grow

Usually I would have a Y splitter in each socket to make for 10 CFL, but right now I have it above some cuttings so the light has been reduced.
