    is this true?

if u keep ur lights close to ur plant they wont grow tall? Keeping the light as close as possible helps to minimize stretching which gives the impression you are forcing the plant to grow shorter. It does not actually alter the plant's specific growth rate for the conditions it is being grown...

    quick ?

At 5 weeks into flower I think you're somewhat limited as to options. You can use ice-cold water in a strong sprayer to keep their activity level down, but otherwise, you don't want to do anything at this point that will mess up your bud. If you can get the room temp down that may help also...

    my weed timeline

blackbeltusa has the right concept; a monster plant won't do you much good without the lighting to flower it. You basically have a 400w light; that is not near enough for a monster plant. Consider that the effective depth of your light is 3 to 4 feet, and at 4 feet it's piss-poor - even at 3...

Lighting...trying to go cheap. Still bagseed experimenting

The thing is, growing cannabis from start to finish requires a fair bit of time and work. I never understand when someone says 'I don't care about yield or potentcy' which, incidentally, I have heard many times at RIU. Why on earth would anyone want to spend months taking care of a plant or...

    T5 High Output Fluorescent

You're right about the apples and oranges comparison in certain respects, but to clarify, I wasn't actually trying to compare the two setups against each other, I was simply demonstrating the difference a higher 'volume' of lighting can make. Not everyone is able to use a couple 1000w lights...

Lighting...trying to go cheap. Still bagseed experimenting

I answered the way I did because the answers to your questions are the same as you would find in a tutorial about lighting. It's not that people don't want to help, but to write out a bunch of information on lighting is a waste of time and energy when it can be easily found and understood. A...

    T5 High Output Fluorescent

A buddy of mine uses 4 x 4 bulb sets T5's (16, 4 foot bulbs in 4 fixtures) and his plants grow very well and his yield is good. I use a 1000w MH and a 1000w HPS from seedling to harvest - for the same number of plants my yield is twice what his is, sometimes more. It all depends on the many...

What do you mean by that? (The part in bold, italic lettering.)

Lighting...trying to go cheap. Still bagseed experimenting

You need to do some research on lighting. I'll leave it at that.

    Def? Help ASAP! PICS.

Wikidbchofthewst gave you an excellent post and perhaps that is your problem; however, in my experience almost any kind of nutrient deficiency is very rare in this day and age - nutrient overdose, not so rare, but under-fed plants, or plants lacking specific nutrients would be a rare experience...

    My first Hit and run!

This is what happens with every post like this ... the poster gets ridiculed because he is a complete moronic asshole then he tries to make himself sound better. Too late dude, you already screwed yourself. Idiot.

    short plants

That's a good thing, let them be. Don't be cutting leaves at this stage - very important.

    How am I doing?

The issue with your plants is watering. If you pour water until it runs out the drain holes when it's time to water, then wait for the soil to dry out completely (but before the plant starts wilting) you will never have a problem with watering again. 'Dry out completely' means exactly that...

    First grow pics

If you're a gardener then you must realize you're not going to get too far with 3 CFLs. I wish you luck but with that setup you can't expect much to happen. Good luck.

    First grow pics

You're doing okay for a first grow but they are very stretched for White Widow, if that is in fact what they are. I've included a pic of some White Widow I am growing now ... these plants are about the same height as yours but note how compact and lush they are. What are you using for lighting?

    pee in my garden

Lots of ferts use urea ... didn't know that. I guess I'm not paying enough attention. :-) The first time I heard about it was many many years ago when someone/some company/whoever it was decided to tell the world about Miracle Grow's secret ingredient: urea. It was so long ago I don't...

    pee in my garden

Believe it or not, there is 'some' truth to the urine thing, but not the way it's been presented here. Miracle Grow has a little secret that apparently not many people know about: they use urea in their fertilizers. (I don't know about all, but many.) Urea is a wasteproduct of protein...
